LESSON #9: Basic Computer Skills You Need to Have
We’ve talked about some things that you need to have in order to start an online business, so now we’re going to talk about some things you need to know.
Like I said back in lesson 3, you DON’T need to be a computer expert to be an internet marketer, but you do need to have some basic skills…
(Watch this video…)
Main points:
What you need to know…
1) Using your computer; turning it on, off, etc.
2) Mouse skills: Left click, right click, double click
3) Using Windows or whatever OS you have
4) Navigating your computer
5) Working with windows: Open, close, minimize, maximize, resize, move
6) Multitasking with multiple programs/windows open
7) Creating folders
8] Changing your folder “view”
9) Naming and renaming files
10) “Dragging and dropping”
11) Copying and moving files/folders
12) Zipping and unzipping files
13) Installing a software program
14) Opening a program
15) Copying and pasting text
16) Editing and saving files/documents
17) Save vs. Save As
18) Using a web browser to navigate the internet
19) “Googling” and other online research
20) Sending and receiving email
21) Opening a PDF file with Adobe reader
22) Using productivity software such as Word and Excel, or OpenOffice
Action steps:
1) Go through this list of skills, and if you don’t know how to do something, learn it.
If you’re truly a self-taught learner, then you can learn it all here on the internet for free, as long as you know how to click on a link and navigate some sites that I’ve provided below:
(UPDATE: Some of the links I mentioned in the video are no longer valid, but these ones should work…)
http://tech.tln.lib.mi.us/tutor/
http://www.ctdlc.org/remediation/ (includes quizzes)
http://www.basiccomputerinformation.ca/
Alright, so now we’ve covered most of the basics… but when it comes to online business, there’s an entire vocabulary that you’ll need to be familiar with. I’ll cover those online business terms in the next lesson.
As always, you are welcome to post your questions and comments below.
Have a great day!

Great Checklist of Basic Computer Skills to know before starting! I appreciate the added links you included for refreshing our memories!

Excellent video, I am thinking of starting a new website. I need to first research niches. I wanted to know, what keyword tool do you reccommend and are their any free options. I also want to know which keywords are high paying in terms of adsense.
Thanks
Oscar
Oscar, try http://www.seobook.com, under tools and keyword search. It will tell you how many times per day your keyword was searched on all the major search engines. I’m sure Eric could advise more. This one has been very helpful to me.

I signed up for Google Adwords and with that you can actually monitor the success of your keywords and change any that aren’t getting any hits. There is also a help option with Google’s advice on good keywords (and I’m guessing they should know).
I’m argeed with you that we need the basic skills to run the online business. Although we can outsource. We need to equip basic skills so we can update the website anytime as we like.

Eric,
when you look at a list like that you realize that even the basics (that we tend to take for granted) are actually more substantial than we think.
I know I was surprised when I started seeing questions on my helpdesk about ‘where is the clipboard’. It’s a basic facility, but only if you already know about it.
That’s why video tutorials are so popular these days - people can *see* what they need to learn. Sometimes, unfortunately, even the clearest explanation can be confusing. But a picture, as we know, is worth a thousands words.
But a good list makes a good starting point for further exploration, so you’ve provided a good resource with that list and links.

Eric, I’m lovin every lesson. You’re offereing so much value and great guidance. Thanks.
Back up data management. How do you store data if something goes wrong?
I recommend getting an external hard drive to keep a backup of your entire PC, or at least of your most important files and programs. A decent external hard drive can be purchased for $100 - $400. It’s not so important what kind of drive you get; what’s important is that you use it to backup all the files on your computer on a regular basis. I’ve bought several hard drives (including Maxtor, Lacie, and Western Digital) from Buy.com with good luck.
I agree with the skills listed above. I teach classes and other basics are how to save a file, and where to put it. Also, you should know how to look at a link and see if it is real, or just a phishing scam. I cover all of these in my bi-weekly newsletters.
For your subscribers I have a free computer tips newsletter and free articles on my site. I also gave this PDF as a giveaway which lists many of the items listed above. http://www.yourpcguide.com/tips2005.pdf
There are many more computer tips in my newsletter - computers@sendfree.com
Good basic stuffs Eric you put a lesson on how to use a PC and surf the net! Sure some one out there will benefit from your work!

Just a side note for anyone trying to decide which way to go with productivity software. While open office is a GREAT free program(and certainly can do the job just fine) I’ve found personally that microsoft word and microsoft excel have been a little more user friendly and also more widely used among computer users. However…like I stated this is a personal preference. If you decide to purchase your software I would recommend getting microsoft office home and student 2007. This includes both Word, Excel, organizational tools and much more. Its also cost a lot less than purchasing them individually. Usually the package runs around $149 but I found that Costco or Costco.com carries it for about $50 less! Either way you decide I wish you best of luck in your business
Gary,
Thanks for always having great additional tips.
With Gratitude,
Melina
Also, if anyone’s buying a new laptop on the High Street you can often get a big discount on Office!
Hi Eric,
Today, I think I need a refresher course in typing, my fingers just don’t want to hit the right keys.
I agree that we don’t realize that there are a lot of people who haven’t had the advantage of learning to use a computer. I think you are about to reach the end of my knowledge.
I am enjoying the lessons. They let us know that we aren’t completely without skills. After many computer classes and years of working at a computer some of this seems pretty simple but I remember how complicated most of it was when I started.
My first experience with computers, they filled a whole room. We keyed and the machine punched holes in cards. Those were fed into gigantic machines that computed pay, income tax, social security and any other deductions and spit out checks once a week. Boards, about 2×2 ft were rewired by one of my bosses to convert from socia security and income tax on the day of the checks. It took most of the day to print about 3000 checks. When they returned from the bank, they had to be sorted before someone manually balanced the books.
Boy, that was a long time ago and I was a lot younger!
Keep the lessons coming!
Rose
Don’t find many of us ‘oldtimers’ left. Thank you for sharing those memories. I’m also one of the old printers that set all those letters by hand in a stick, then locked it in a chase to print.
Boy, Eric,
You really gave them a mouth full on this lesson.
AAAHHH The good old days of “DOS” and doing everything line by line; making sure you didn’t miss a comma or a period in the code… then came the ‘learning curve’ of win95.
Now all they have to do is click a mouse button.
Grandpa Bill
To Grandpa Bill,,,,,,,,,maybe you think your that smart hen about the learning curve not everyone had your LUCK…………….
Eric, It’s amazing how you tackle the step by step problems encountered by majority of us searching the Internet for success. Keep it up.

Yawn ….
I’ve been reading your tips for a long time and found them very helpful. Looking at the list of things I need to know about my computer seems a little daunting but I really want to have a business so will follow your guidance because I’ve found you know what you are doing.
Hi Eric, I’m tagging along from lesson to lesson. You are doing a great job, and I hope I can hang with you on this class. I can do most of the things you pointed out, but I am slow with some of them. So I will practice. What you are doing with those kids is a wonderful thing. God bless you and your family
Eric, Thanks again for the time you’re putting into this education series. It easy to forget the basic skills involved in getting started. Keep up the good work!

Dear Eric
I can’t wait to see the next lesson, please release all your tips asap. Thank you very much.
Me too! Also…thanks Eric for the email about xsitepro! I purchased the software and love it so far. I’m amazed at everything it can do…just have to get past the small learning curve first!
Thanks Eric for all that you are teaching us.
Iris. If you are like me and cannot wait for tomorrows lesson all you need to do is go to your browser and type in http://www.ericstips.com/tips/lesson10 or whatever number you want to go to.
Its good to follow day to day, but the knowledge Eric is teaching just gets you that excited that you cant wait till the next day to get it.

Hi Eric,
The all above enumeration skills there are well-known for me.Be sure I’ll use your offered links when I’ll need more details.
For 2 of them I need some details as follows:
#12. Zipping and unzipping files.I have downloaded Winzip,WinRar and WinAce but they all ask me to buy them. Therefore I downloaded your 7Zip 4.57 (x64 Edition) because I have Windows XPx64 Edition. But I haven;t got any executable file to try to use it.
Have you any details to help me to zipp and unzipp a file?
#20. Sending and receiving email. Of course I know to snd and receive emails, butI do like the appearance of your emails sent to us.I want to follow you if you agree me.If so ,please, give some of your skills for this subject.
Respectfully,
Petre Tudor
#12 If you got a .msi file, you may have issues with your Windows XP installer. There are downloads to fix it but you’ll have to search for that yourself on the microsoft website. I use Freezip instead. You can do a search for freezip download. The file is freezip.exe so it is executable to install.
For 7-zip, you might try this support forum: http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=45797
For the emails I send to my list, I use aweber, and I send them in 2-part MIME (HTML and text). The reason it looks cool is because your email reader apparently accepts the HTML version. I’ll be covering more about email marketing in later lessons.
I’ve decided to unsubscribe from your emails as I don’t believe the aims you appear to be promoting ie that of being an internet millionaire etc are consistent with true Christianity. Christ taught one can’t love God and money whereas you appear to believe they can be compatible to some degree.
I don’t think I am teaching people to love money. I view money as a tool we can use…
God didn’t say we had to be poor, either.
NO, He said help yourself and Ill help you,,,,,,,,,,,,hahaha
Sorry you feel that this is all about money. The Bible says the LOVE of money is the root of evil. Not having money. Spending everything you get on yourself or storing it away for youself is not the way to live. Just think on how you could be used if you had extra money to give to missions, people that are in hardship, help someone pay their light bill, being able to buy groceries for someone who has lost their job. If you have only money to live on and do not give some to others then you are not doing what God has asked you to do. If you give God will give it back. Do not be selfish. Eric is giving this information to us for free. God Bless Him for being so generous!!
From EH
Christ wants us to give our money to help those less fortunate. First, we have to HAVE money to give. Believe me, when I am an internet millionaire, I will not forget the poor!
I don’t believe Eric is promoting the love of money. Rather a way to becoming self sufficient if you so desire.
Religion and money aren’t exclusive of one another.
Or is there another reason for the collection plates at church?
Reminds me of the televangelist who said ‘Send God your money’ then gave his own address.
Hello, Eric
Seems that I’m familiar with all this
necessary to know points.
OK, waiting for continuation!
You’re right, Eric. You don’t have to have an IT background to have a simple website. I’m an accountancy student, I know nothing about IT before this but with some tips from Gurus like you, I manage to have a website offering my most passionate hobby - arts and crafts.
Thanks, Eric.

Hi Eric:
I have been getting your video tips lessons and I would like you to please help me with this question:
If I have $2000 to start my internet marketing business, where or how do you suggest that I start?
I would appreciate your sincere answer.
Thank you.
Honestly I recommend starting with these lessons, and do not make any unecessary purchases. Lesson #8 covers the things you need to start.
HI ERIC,
I HAVE SAID IT BEFORE AND I AM SAYING IT AGAIN.YOU ARE THE BOMB.WHAT YOU ARE TEACHING FOR FREE WILL COST TONS OF DOLLARS TO BUY AND HERE YOU ARE GIVING IT ALL FREE.I AM SURE OTHER ‘INTERNET BIZ GURUS’ ARE GOING TO ASK FOR YOUR HEAD.BUT THEY WON’T SUCCEED.YOU MUST BE AN ANGEL TO BE DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING.GOD WILL BLESS YOU ABUNDANYLY.THANKS A ZILLION.
This might seem tedious but these are some of the simple yet paralyzing stumbling blocks some people encounter that stops them in their tracks!! Eric, you have the patience of a saint!!
Hi Eric, I wanted to ask you about hostgator, if you can help me.
I am trying to figure out how to integrate
the WHM billing system with my paypal buttons…any advice?
I would greatly appreciate it!!!
Thank you,
PATYE
I’ve done that in the past when I was selling hosting, but it’s been awhile. From what I remember, the buttons are generated automatically when you set up your WHMAP variables. you might try posting your question here:

I’ve finished the first 9 lessons. How do I find the others?
I’m adding them as I make them. The next one will be up tomorrow.
Hi! Eric,
The first 9 lessons are grate; it is true that is good to lay out the foundation of skills, and other needs from the beginning.
I cannot wait to get to 16th, and start to build; the businesses you have chosen are perfect for me.
By the way, I have 2-3 domains to sell. Can you indicate a good website where I can sell them with some profit?
Regards Michaela
If you’ve got some great domains, you might consider selling them on Ebay. The key there is to try to drive some extra traffic to your auction from other sources. For example, post some ads in various domain-related forums where business owners and webmasters hang out. There are also some decent forums where domain sales take place, such as http://www.dnforum.com/
Great for those who are afraid to use computers. I remember one of my friends told me that she is afraid to use the computer with the mouse as she fears that she might spoil it by clicking mouse. I told her that you will not spoil it. Try it and soon she overcome her fear.

Hey Eric,
That’s great stuff. In my spare time my full time business is online computer service. It’s great visiting people that are eager to learn. I find that I have to really slow down and focus on the basics again.
One thing I tell all mu customers is to back up and back up often.
I see a video coming in a new niche hmmmm.

Hey Erick!
I’m still here. Sometimes a little bit anxious waiting for what is next but thanks for your teaching spirit.
Basics? I need them so thanks again.
ah! P.s. You are not teaching love for money It’s all about business. You’re right… money as a tool… to survive, because we all need to eat. But other than that… to help.
Thank you for your time man!

Hi Eric
Just so you know how wide your circle of followers is, I am from Cape Town, the most southern point in Africa. Quite a distance from you.
I just want to thank you so much for the information and the way you present it. I am also thankful that I was guided by a Higher Force to find you and your teachings on this vast world wide web.
Blessings

Thank you for the list. It will help a lot of people. It can overwhelm us sometimes to learn something new. Thank you for taking the time to put it all together.
Dan and Deanna “Marketing Unscrambled”
Eric I did view lesson eight this morning and ordered Push Button.
The basic list was very good thanks.
Hi Eric
The great things about these tips is it shows that you’re sensitive to the fact that some people are not 100% comfortable with computers but that the willingness to learn is more important. I’m au fait with all the above but I know when we get to marketing/business knowledge I will probably have a lot to learn!
Hi Eric
I receive a lot of email everyday, but among those which get my STAR is Eric Tips. I like the lessons you give us. As a newbie I very appreciate what you are doing right now
Dear Eric, first off to have someone care enough to do your training and not be asking for money is a fresh relief from the gurus, You must be thrilled to know you are reaching the world with your work. Believe it or not I practise but still can’t do copy and paste. Maybe its the dyslexia or the three concushions I’ve had. I actually needed the videos to go a little slower for the list of basics. I’m only 56 but it was alittle too fast for me. Your email is always a breath of fresh air because its like a friend who has come to visit. And that is what I consider you. I bet you have a nice marriage. Something I’ve noticed with most of the big gurus.,their wives are never mentioned. Think about that. They talk about spending more time with their kids and almost never is the wife mentioned.REALLY!
I have the greatest wife. Marriage is a lot of work, but its worth it. I would rather spend time with my wife than anyone else
I`ve liked you since the beginning of these lesson`s. Now after I see what you say about your wife, I think your great!! Keep being you Eric!! Thanks Patty
Thanks for the great checklist of items
the computer resources are good but i think you should add the site below for the novice users.
It is not my site but there is a ton of resources to HTML coding.
http://www.w3schools.com/
Eric, I really have to do my homework on some of this basic stuff and I will get there, one of my question for now is do I need to have a Website or should I have already had one. Thanks, James
You will need a website, but you don’t need it yet. I will be covering how to build your website in the lessons.
I’m still here. Sometimes a little bit anxious waiting for what is next but thanks for your teaching spirit.
waiting for continuation!
thanks!
Hi Eric.
Love your lessons. Can’t wait for the next one.
I saw you recommend Adobe reader for pdf files. Here’s another great reader and I think it’s even better than Adobe Acrobat, because it’s got a smaller memmory footprint and loads faster. It’s called Foxit Reader and works superb with all the browsers.
People can get it at : http://www.foxitsoftware.com/
This is not an affiliate link, it’s the site’s main link.
I hope you and everyone enjoy this.
Thanks again for the lessons, you are doing a super service for all IM newbies.

HI ERIC,
SO FAR SO GOOD.REGARDING LESSON #9
I KNOW MUCH OF THE BASICS,
ONLY A FEW I NEED TO FINETUNE.
Hi eric, my name is Don ,Ihave been trying to start a online buissness for about a year I really want that American dream but have no clue on how to obtain it ,every program I have invested in so far has been a fake Ireally dont mind the investment if it is true, for I am on unemployment and my funds are about to run out,so whre do I turn to next?
The american dream rarely comes from buying programs, but rather from building a business and/or being a good long term investor. My lessons teach a method of building an online business, so i’d say stick with the program, and get a job to support yourself as you build your business.
you sound like a good guy your presentations of your knowledge is simply well put and I notice you dont talk down to your readers you are true and real as one can be in this internet money making maze im still working on it eric god bless. bri
Hi Eric,
Just wanted to let you know that I have made it to lesson #9 so-far.
Eric, how can i have my own host{ie}become a landload on the internet so that i will not pay anybody for hosting.
I cover hosting in lesson 24:
http://www.ericstips.com/tips/lesson24/
Also if you’re interested in becoming a web host, you can check out my free ebook:
How to Sell Web Hosting
Eric- Thank you so much for reminding us the basics, I think we didn’t realize just how easily we forget he simple stuff. The lessons are just fantastic!!! I am loking forward to recieving the whole series. I’ve been saving each lesson on its own email sub folder. Thanks again for everything.
Lots to learn from you. You have a kind heart to provide people with free info. Please let me know if i can help.
I have been using various generations of computers since 1984 when my father got me a TI-99/4A for Christmas. This was memorable because he called me on the phone as soon as he bought it — in October!!! He knew I wanted a computer and had been looking at IBMs. I quickly outgrew the capabilities of the TI, but earned enough from typing for others to buy my first 286. I now have a touch-screen Vista 64.
It is no wonder that I already know how to do everything on your list for this lesson. The sobering thought was to realize just how much my computer skills and technology have grown in just a few years. Even knowing the computer basics as well as I do, I am sure I will find challenges in the future. Some program can be learned very quickly but others take a while. I have come close to mastering AutoCAD in school, so I am sure I will be able to master whatever software comes along for my business. The important thing is to be willing to admit you do not know something and then seek the answers. Help programs and knowing who to ask are priceless.
This list is gay. A real list should have included c-panel, ftp, basic website building program. auto responder service and a outsourcing site. You would need to learn these basic skills and/or programs.
LOL…I think you missed the point. If you would just stick with me, you will see that ALL of those things you mentioned are already covered in these lessons. The above list is a list of prerequisites BEFORE learning how to build an online business.
Hi all
Re the above skills - agree they are vital. For anyone in the UK, I would recommend signing up for the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL). In 2000, I didn’t even know how to use the mouse, so took myself off to college. After 15 months, I had passed the ECDL - seven modules covering all of the above - with flying colours, and Desktop Publishing - Levels 1 & 2. Is also the main qualification employers in UK are asking for, re computer literacy. You can do it over three years, and re-sit modules if you fail any. Was damned hard work for a complete novice, but it was the best thing I did. You have to stick at it!
Cheers
Elizabeth
Hi Eric, thanks so much for your down to earth ,hand on hand tutorials.I,m a newbie and have subscribed to many newsletters. They all have a great program or the other to sell.I must say you are great .thanks
still hanging in i love and look forward to every lesson i’m still making mistakes but not as many as i was.this is an easy program to follow for an old newbie thanks again
Hi Eric, Good list of computer basics! I’ve spent my whole career in Information Technology so computers, networks , database technology, and security, is all I do. I agree that it is a very good idea to take a course, if you are a person who hasn’t worked with computers very much. I think this job will be somewhat frustrating for a person without good computer skills.
Yeah, thanks Eric for your basic computer skill intro and link provided,is useful..
Would like to check with you on how to start online business -low cost initially, if profit generated it fine enough to do it bigger ,then would start purchase necessary programme to help the business .I think the affiliate marketing, would fall into this,is it ? which i most interested in.
Hello Ng,
Have you tried out Eric’s free Writing Cash Program?
http://www.writingcash.com/
Many have found this program to be a great place to begin their careers as internet marketers.
good info on google.
dyuane
I will need to check out the writing for cash. I had a friend that mentioned that.
I think I am ok with all those. Not an expert yet so far ok. Only some web format makes it difficult. Yes, I need to learn more of the terms. Go Eric.
Thanks againg Eric as always,
Jason
Everybody is at a different stage within their computer skill set. It’s a great idea to include some basic training on computer skills so that even a total beginner that has no computer skills what so ever come in here and create an online income. As far fetched as this seems, it’s actually true that millions of people around the globe and even here in the US are only just now beginning to come online. I personally know several people who are very green when it comes to computers and one of my friends knows nothing at all and has no interest in learning about them either. But me on the other hand… that’s a different story. I’ve been using computers since 1998 and one of my domain names is 9 years old!
Hi Eric,
I think I would have passed this one. Looking forward to your next one as the terminology slays me.
Regards Butch
Hi Eric,
The next lesson sounds like it will be interesting to me. As a matter of fact I started putting together a glossary last night. I noticed there are a lot of different Acronyms; it seems like I come across a new one every day.
Thanks,
Jack
ithink with poeple like you, we dont have to go 360% but 180% this time because the mountain is not too tall again to climb i think what we are looking for is just around us. so how do i make my blog known to poeple? that is,how do i attrate poeple to my blog,? what are the keywards and strategy to use thanks.
I will be covering those topics throughout these lessons
Hi Eric.I am not a computer expert but I will follow the basic computer skills we need to know; It’s really a good help for the newbies:God Bless!

Hi Eric.
Yet another great video! This is actually the first time I’ve ever seen a free training video geared so much for the nubiee. I don’t think many people realize the tools required to run an online business. After watching your video I realized that I already have some good tools in my tool belt. More to learn though, thanks for teaching us.
Blessings
-Tom
Hello Eric, you really do it step by step. Great stuff for newbies.
Have a great day,
Arne
el tiempo es crucial en este sentido, pues estar frente a la pantalla por muchas horas la vista se cansa, pero debo de aclar algo que lo mejor es hacer un horario para la mejor comprension de cada elemento.
hi sir;
i have received lesson9 and i’m looking forward to receive the next thaks and see you.
I am desperate and would like to open an online business. Would you recommend that I buy one of those packages that some of those gurus are selling and start there? If not, what is the best way to start. Appreciate your input. Thanks. Al.
There are many legitimate ways of building an online business. My preferred method is contained within these lessons. So it’s up to you whether this is the type of business you want to build. Ultimately, you should choose one and go for it
Just make sure it is your OWN business, and not just some program designed to put money in someone else’s pocket.
Eric,
I appreciate you “really” starting from scratch. Too many instructors act like we all know it which makes most of their courses unusable or at least very confusing. I’m 66 and learn quickly but had no computer training.
Going over the basics gives me confidence as, so far, I found out that I know quite a bit.
These are a real steps to success.Thank you my coach ,help me to excel.I am looking for the next lessons as I have lesson 9.Thank you.
I consider myself an expert computer user. Not to brag but my mom calls me all the time to help her out. That said, getting into internet marketing has really taught me to be organized. I’ve found that if organize my files and folders around the same format then it’s easier to find things, and of course keep things squared away. In the end the more organized you can be the faster you can do or automate your mundane tasks. Major time saver.
Hello from sunny (finally) Florida, I am so glad to have found you. I have asked many leaders I affiliate for, to help me on some of the basics and I get sent info that is just as or more tecky than I started with! Finally, I get what I need through your lessons. Easy to understand and links to learn more. Thanks dude!
Hi Eric,
You are a good teacher. Most of skilled marketers don´t understand that there are many people who aren´t so techy.
Kari
hi eric am new to your website and finding your lessons very interesting and useful i am at lesson 9 at the moment but going through very quickly thanks bob england
thank u Eric and god bless u
Thanks Eric it’s good to have such a checklist.
Another great video Eric. I know how to do most of the stuff on this list, but there was some things that I didn’t know how to do. I will definitely learn all the things that I don’t know how to do until I master them. These lessons rock, thanks again Eric. Btw, I am also from Colorado but I live in Pa right now and I can’t wait to go back to Denver. Take care and I look forward to all your lessons.
Thanks Eric for the basics.
Most so called internet teachers assume this basic info is already learned. Not always the case.
Thanks for the stepped approach you are taking
thanks a lot for every lesson that you gave it was such a great idea to share some of your knowledge to all pc users and soon to be users out there!
Worth watching… I know zero about excell spread sheets… Ahh well, more to learn!
Thanks Eric. Lesson by lesson is great. I know much of the stuff that is needed so far, and look forward to each lesson.
Hi Eric,
I am really enjoying your tutorials, they have helped me in many ways.

Great checklist but it is too basic for me. But I know it is designed for everyone so keep up the good job!
I’m someone who needs the basicness, I’m so grateful Eric went to this level.

Hi Eric,
Like the way you present your lessons. Good to run through the basics. Think I have most of them but small daily lessons are right for me. As one of (very) old roosters this is much appreciated
Hi Eric, I am loving it
thank you Eric…cannot wait for the next lesson
Eric
Finished Lesson-9. Once again, a very good lesson. A lot of good information. And at 53, it reminds me of something I have said many times over the years to other people–you’re never too old to learn something new….Well, I am definitely learning.
Thanks Eric
Thank you Eric for reinforcing many of the things that I already do on the pc. I look forward to lesson #10…Friends, Lloyd.

To Eric, Yoy have a very nice, easy and rerlaxed way of explaning basics to someone. Very nice job getting the basics across to all. I wish I had you around on some of my work days trying to find and learn how to work on a project. Hope the more in-depth lessons go as well.
Great Job
Bob
Hello Eric,
I love the way you take nothing for granted with your tips, meaning you don’t know if we have any experience at all. I’m on #9 right now. I’m looking forward to learning from your teaching.
Thanks Eric……..this really is refreshing. I have decided to settle down, stop buying, and just get back to the basics. Hopefully, your lessons will get me back on track with my goals.
May God Continue to Bless you Richly
Hello Eric,
Thanks for the lessons. As I read over the responses and replies I found myself wanting to “click” the “like button” many times. Kinda like a ditto in place of having to take the time to say the same thing someone else said or read something someone else already said. Maybe you got a lesson on how to do that?….just a thought. Have a great day and God Speed!
Hi Eric
I see all this and wonder if my personal hold up online will be covered.
Nobody actually says the nitty gritty of how to get a website sales page with a squeeze page up and going.
It has been skirted around by everyone I’ve seen giving training.
Is this going to happen?
You’re doing a great job.
Hello Janny,
Yes, Eric covers all of this training as you progress through the course.
Here is Eric’s intro lesson on squeeze pages:

Hi Eric, yes it’s OK, reminding and refreshing are also an importance one. I look forward to seeing from you the next lesson. Thanks!
Excellent overview of Basics and added bonus of websites. Eric, U B D Bomb!!!!
Hi Eric, yes it very good i know all this now.
will practice some of these thanks
Dear Eric, Only 2 of those links brought me to actual pages for help. The other 3 were “page can not be found”. LOL,no biggie. I am thrilled to have your tips, they are so much more than tips. I’m in My Article Network & Real Coaching Club also. You are the best “teacher” I’ve come across. You make no asumptions about our skill level, I really like that. Newbie has a wide range of definition.Thank you so much for all this work you’ve done, paying it forward. I am fortunate to have found it. Thank you! Karen Bell Reno NV
Hello Karen,
Thanks! I’m letting Eric know!
Dear Eric, I’m also in Writing Cash Tps. I’m working extra to fund my ppc budget. Now that is a simple way to start.I’m EXCITED!! I can’t say thank you enough. Karen Bell Reno
Eric, you teach well!!! I purchased an Apple in April and still have my HP laptop.Your lists are VERY helpful! The copy and paste was always my down fall because I thought I’d lose a program so I didn’t use it! How foolish of me! It’s really simple now because of technology today (by the way I just turned 70) and because of people like you who unabashadly share your knowledge with all of us!!! Thanks so much! Jeanne
Eric you are simply an awesome teacher my man. From the moment I purchased you and Naveed’s Instant Product Engine, Ive been recieving your Eric’s Tips lessons in my mail box. I can’t get enough. I stop everything that Im doing at the moment to go into your lessons. I am a newbie’ with Internet Marketing, however I do intend to stick with it until I get my site and blog up generating income. In the meantime, I will keep studying what I need to know thanks to you. Just wanted to say keep up the good work. By the way, this lesson #9 makes me feel confident that I will become a thorough and effecient marketer. Thanks again Eric and keep those lessons coming!
Eric, I meant to tell you that I really dig you music in your tutorial videos. I need to get more familiar with excel
Eric,
Are the lessons you sent after I purchased Instant Product Engine the same ones I’ve been studying by going to your eric’s tips.com
Thanks
Jim
Hello Jim,
You might have seen some of the lessons before. The easiest way to tell, is by the lesson number.
If you’ve been following the lessons in order, and you see a recommendation to view a particular lesson, you’ll know if you’ve already seen it if the lesson number isn’t the highest one you’ve viewed yet!
