Happy Thanksgiving!
This is the 18th consecutive year of doing this thankfulness exercise and contest! I don’t use this blog much anymore, but as long as I’m still drawing breath and God gives me the strength, this is a tradition I want to keep alive.
While about half of Eric’s Tips readers live outside the USA, I say it every year… gratitude transcends all borders.
Keeping up with this tradition gives me a chance to pause and truly appreciate all of YOU — my subscribers, my customers, and the many friends I’ve made along the way. You’re the reason I’ve been able to run this business for so long.
So first… thank you.
Whether this is your first time participating in our annual Thanksgiving contest or your 18th, your presence here means a lot to me.
A Few Things I’m Thankful For This Year…
Family.
This summer our oldest daughter got married in a beautiful outdoor amphitheater nestled among the redwoods of California. It was one of those storybook settings — towering trees, a glowing bride, and a ceremony full of joy.
The celebration didn’t end there. We hosted a reception back home in Colorado, followed by another reception hosted by her new in-laws in Washington State. So now we officially have two married kids, but our home still feels full and alive with the other five kids still at home.
As many of you will remember, we finalized the adoption of our 7th child in 2024. That journey continues to shape us, stretch us, and bless us. My wife and I are incredibly thankful for the personal growth it has sparked in this season of our lives.
Fishing and the outdoors.
It was an unforgettable fishing year. I set new personal bests for several species — including brown trout, cutbow trout, walleye, lingcod, and snook — just to name a few.
I caught over 20 fish that would qualify for the Colorado “master angler” program, and while it’s not about the awards, it’s a fun benchmark and a reminder of how much time I’ve been blessed to spend outdoors.
Here are a few pictures…

Business.
I’m thankful for the opportunity to keep growing professionally. This year I continued to push myself to learn, implement, and leverage AI technology.
I’m also very thankful for a few amazing partners who joined me in launching several best-selling AI tools in our industry this year. It’s been both fun and inspiring to keep innovating even after two decades in this business.
Life — and hope.
Like I shared in last year’s video, I know life is really hard. And the holidays can magnify everything — the joys, the losses, the struggles. 2025 brought its own set of challenges for me too. Plenty of low moments. Plenty of moments where life felt heavy.
But I’m thankful for life itself, and for the opportunity to keep pushing forward.
If you’re going through difficult times…
don’t lose hope.
Life is worth living, even when it gets really tough.

Now It’s YOUR Turn — The 18th Annual Eric’s Tips Thanksgiving Contest!
For 18 years, we’ve done this thankfulness exercise together.
And once again…
All you have to do is post a comment below sharing something you’re thankful for.
A word, a sentence, a poem, a video, a picture — anything that reflects genuine gratitude.
If you need inspiration, go back and read the Thanksgiving comments from the past 17 years.
In a few days, I will randomly choose 10 winners, and I’ll send $20 via PayPal to each of those 10 people. As usual, I’ll announce the winners on this post.
NOTE: Your comment won’t appear immediately — I’ll approve them periodically.
Thank you for being part of this tradition.
Thank you for being part of my journey.
And thank you for the privilege of being able to send this message every year.
Have a great day and a Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you Eric for the gifts. I am thankful for life.
