LESSON #3: Is an online business right for me?
Unlike many of the internet marketing teachers, I’m not going to tell you that ANYONE can successfully run an online business.
The fact is that it takes hard work to build a business, and there are certain abilities that will greatly increase your chances of success.
Watch this video to see what I mean…
Main points:
a) you must be OK with marketing
b) you’ll need to learn it along the way
Action steps:
1) Right now, you simply need to commit to the following.
a) I’m willing to be a marketer
b) I like computers and the internet
c) I’m willing and able to learn (and I know it will take work)
Take some time and be honest with yourself (and don’t WORRY about WHAT you’ll need to learn. That’s what I’m here for, and I’ll guide you through the entire process.) If you are confident in those three things, then I’d say you meet the basic requirements for being able to start an online business, and you’re ready to move onto the next lesson, in which we’ll explore several different types of online businesses.
As always, you are welcome to post your questions and comments below.
Have a great day!

Hi Eric - Folks,
Thanks for a great video series so far! I just wanted to say a few words about the theme of this latest installment.
I used to h8 the idea about Sales and Marketing, but the more I learnt about it the more I grew to love the subject. I started looking into Internet Marketing out of desperation and originally I just thought that the end justifys the means. Of course it is better to have an affinity with the subject to begin with, but sometimes you don’t know until you try.
I have also been a compulsive buyer of Internet Marketing stuff as well, but I made this decision not to buy anymore a while back. The fact is that even if the stuff you buy is good and useful and if you don’t use it, then it is as useless as a chocolate teapot.
I’m very unsatisfied with my job and have been since 8 years or so and I have been searching for that internet pot of gold since a year and a half or so, but have not had the courage to take the plunge…yet. I would like to say to everyone, that as a conclusion to about 1.5 years of research, I think that there is no quick and easy way to success. It will take time, effort, commitment and perseverance and I’m currently devoting about 5 hours a day in getting my thing started (on top of my day job, 2x kids and a chronically ill wife and it is tough).
Thanks again Eric!
Brgds,
Dave “mchappy” Chan
(Sorry for the bad english)
Dave,
God bless you and best of luck in your journey towards a successful internet business. Your very right in saying that it’s important to take action rather than always searching and buying new products.Love your analogy when you say it’s all useless as a chocolate teapot if you don’t take action.God Bless you!

Hi! Eric,
Honestly speaking, I was trying to understand what this on-line (internet) marketing is?
With the blessing of God I started receiving your lessons. This is the third(3) one.
This is encouraged me to start my own online business. I hope by the end of your lessons I will be able to start.
God bless you dear.
Regards/Iftekhar Hussain
I think you must be most concret.Or is an introduction?
Thanks!Andy
What do you mean?
hi eric ,l love sales and marketing l have taken your very good advice and from today l will stop buying products for my business until l learn more about selling products online .you have given me a good insight into what happends online .l will be listenig to your info all the time .thanks anthony
Thanks, eric
I always waiting for your next lesson and still curiosity what the next step. I think I have spend more than $ 100 to make money online do I have spend more and for what ?
You might have to spend a little more, but probably not much. Keep following he lessons…
Hi Eric,
this is just another great lesson.
Most people only see the money they can make with an online business and not all the work they have to do! Am I right?
Yes you are right. And I think most of that is due to all the hype from other marketers saying you can make $xxx in no time flat. It’s true that I make money while I’m sleeping, but it took a lot of work to set that up.
Hi Eric,
First, Happy Father’s Day to you and all the other Dads out there!
With regard to lesson #3, “Stop Buying Stuff” is a biggy! Because everyone and their uncle tries to sell, sell, sell. It took it me a few purchases before I realized the names I liked and trusted (quality content and products) were also JV partners and affiliates just promoting to make some extra cash.
Enjoying the lessons. And by the way, an additional lesson for me within your lessons is patience! Want them all now!
Always Grateful,
Andrea
Haha, thanks
and thanks for your patience!
Awesome lessons Eric!
Thank you for that info, I have linked back to this article by means of ShareThis.
Cool- thanks for the link!
Honestly Eric
This is just what the doctor ordered. I am sick of
Scammers and worthless trash sites that are legit
but offer no real information getting rich off me.
And not only me but others like me.
You are a breath of fresh air.
For the first time in life I am actually learning mow to market and loving it.
I am studying marketing with articles that I
write and a whole lot, lot more.
And to think I was crying because I had wasted
over $500.00 on internet trash just this past
April. Lost my job this May past and still trying to figure out how to borrow $250.00 for
yet another opportunity.
And one of my Internet buddies said; Nadine…
don’t buy that course you don’t even have a job
I’ll give it to you for free.
No I didn’t write the course he wrote but I’ll
give you the link of the guy who did. So I know
what you mean here.
I heard it a hundred times learn to market yourself and once you do you’ll be able to sell
anything. Responsibly of course, so you are one
of my teachers an d mentors.
Thankful for those like you.
Nadine
Hi Nadine,
Sorry to about your difficulties with past internet scams…I think most of us have felt victim to it one time or another. Best of luck with your future endeavors.
STOP! WARNING! Myth: Anyone can run a PROFITABLE online business.
AAAGGGHHH! What? Are you kidding me? but..but… the GURU’s said it was easy.Work! What do you mean work? Like hard stuff? I think I just soiled my jamies:(
Eric starts Lesson #3 with a rude Awakening for some.. This internet Business stuff is WORK! Let me say that again WORK, WORK, WORK, WORK!

Eric hi,
Thanks a lot for being so generous as to impart your knowledge to all of us naive internet marketers.
I’m really enjoying your course and hope to pick up as many tips as I can from those lessons and to apply those techniques into my newly setup home based IM business.
Thanks again.
Dora
Hi Eric, I’m a computer programmer/instructor and I’m very much enlightened with your topics about sales and marketing.. I hope that I can learn more from you and I want to personally THANK YOU for sharing your ideas FREELY!
God bless you and your wonderful family!
Thanks, Eric! I think you are really doing a lot to help people know what is really involved in building a sucessful internet business. There is no magic pill. Yes, you can work in your pajamas from home if you want, but note that that sentence has a very important critical word - WORK!
I started my first internet marketing business in 1997 when there were no expensive training courses out there. I had three small kids at home, a computer with a 14.4K modem and used Netscape Navigator Gold to design my first two sites. The only internet marketing training that existed was newsletters from Cory Rudl and Mark Joyner. I studied and worked my butt off to build my first company, set up a seperate checking account and reinvested every penny that I made for YEARS into building up a business that eventually was bringing in $75K per month. It took a lot of hard work!!!
Things are so different today - there is SO MUCH training out there - some good, some bad and it can be overwhelming. But none of it will work if you don’t apply what you learn. Yes, you can outsource certain things with your business that you couldn’t in 1997, but managing those outsourced relationships is still WORK. You are only going to get out of your business what you put into it.
Thanks, Eric, for your honesty! People need to hear more of this in the IM world and less hype!
Juliet Easton
Juliet- cool, thanks! Since 1997… you’ve been doing it longer than me
Congrats!
Hi Eric,
Thanks for your honesty about this business, I only hope I had met you much earlier. I came in without any kind of knowledge, but was told it was alright, anyone can do it, and I have learned the very way, after getting in debt to the tune of $25,000. at this point I am determined to make it work for me as I must get out of this, Thanks for you honesty and clarity of instruction. Looking forward to making it with you. The lessons so far are great. Thanks, Sarah
Hi Sarah,
With the way the economy has been lately your not alone when you speak of debt. Hang in there and best of luck….you’ll make it!
Hi Eric,
Thanks for the tips so far and for sharing them with us.
I think I’ve to learn how not to buy from the Internet anymore cos I’m one of those compulsive Internet spender!
I believe selling and marketing on the Internet is a different ball game altogether. I want to know from you how long it took you to master and become successful on the Internet, and whether you will reveal your income as of today!
For all internet marketers, keep going:
“Do not think of today’s failures, but of the success that may
come tomorrow. You have set yourself a difficult task, but you
will succeed if you persevere; and you will find a joy in
overcoming obstacles.”
Hi, my name is Daniel and I’ve been around the web looking for ways to make money a few years now. The biggest problem I have faced is the information/oppurtunity overload, I certainly know that this is a big problem for many people, including myself.
After listening to the so called guru’s in almost every area, trying hard to figure out what to do next or what latest greatest new information product to buy, I gave up! I was confused and exhausted really by all this information flying around and everything they wanted to sell. One sales letter after another and one promise after another really drove me nuts.
The thing is about most of these informaion products the “REAL GURU’s” are selling is not that the informaiotn is bad, but by reading to much you lose focus and think you need to know it all! That is so so wrong! You not only lose focus, but also alot of time and money, not good!
You don’t need to know everything at once in the world of the web. What’s way more important is focus focus focus!! I can not say that enough times. When I found myself focusing on what to do and made a plan that I executed with very little sidestepping or altering of the plan, then I was moving somewhere.
Listen up now everyone! This is my first blog post ever on a blog like this, I never ever spend time reading anything that’s probably not worth the time anymore. I don’t know any so called GURU or are in some way affiliated with someone but I’m still moving to where I want to.
My opinion about buying things and startup costs is, it really depends on what type of business you are starting. Eric talks about being a marketer and acting like one, I agree there. But you also must know what type of marketer you are. For example, do you need the skills of copywriting or don’t you? Do you need articles that will serve as material for contextual advertising(adsense) or do you need great copy to sell products or other people’s products?
A couple of years back, my answer would have been, I need them both and every the other skill existing! This is where confusion, exhaustion and total loss of focus came for me. There is no way you will master everything and being able to do everything yourself and still remain productive, if you are going to try to master and succeed in every area you are doomed to fail. You need a plan and focus, focus focus!!! And the plan cannot include everything you have ever heard of, it must a very focused plan with a systematic approach taken.
So, what about buying things. IMO you are going to have startup costs most definetely! How much depends on what you are doing of course and there is no simple answer to that as Eric said. Down below are my tips on what to think of when buying something.
-Does this purchase make me more effective or even removes the specific task completely?
Start by doing your tasks manually so you know for sure what is taking the most time!
If you don’t know the process of your work in detail, how can truly you know what you need.
NOTE: Everything written here is from a perspective where money is something you need more than something you got!
-Does this purchase take me closer to my goal much faster?
if yes, go for it!
/Daniel
PS. You can even see that I don’t even own an internet marketing webiste, NO LINK! DS
Nice tips
as you will see throughout the lessons, my philosophy is very similar.
Daniel,
I really enjoyed reading your review on the internet marketing industry. Thank you very much for taking the time to express your thoughts so clearly…I’m sure your post will encourage and help a lot of people. I’m currently doing a great course called simpleology and I have to tell you that I agree when you say focussing is one of the most important things!
Daniel, your letter says it all. I spend a lot of time on the internet and I agree Information overload is the biggest problem! However, I am going to persevere. Research is hard work but there is money to be made - lots of it! How did you finally manage to get started and what did you focus on? Like you, I realise I don’t have to know everything. I just have to focus on one particular thing.
Thanks for helping me to become aware of this.
Found your message helpful and encouraging.
Nice to talk with you.
Kind regards.
Hi Eric, how are you?
I already the latest flash player version installed on my computer. But, your video would not play. Was it your link or my computer? I did read your main points and I will have to agree with you.
Thanks for the help,
Ron
LOL read between the lines if you can.
haha nice one
Thanks Eric well said, its people like you worth being around with. Thanks again I’m looking forward to the next lesson.
Norman
Hello Everyone
I was routinely deleting my emails tonight, when the words”Stop buying stuff!” caught my eye.
I clicked on the link to lesson 3. Wow, I am so glad I did.
I listened intently to what Eric had to say, after 4 years of trying to absorb internet marketing, Eric explains it better than anyone.
Thanks Eric for the email and lessons.
Welcome aboard and best of luck! “Stop buying Stuff” is a good eyecatcher for anyone whos been down that road once to many!
Internet marketing is a whole different way of doing buisness.Your teaching videos are the best way to bring across the message.I am enjoying it,please continue with the good work.
Dexter,
I am intrigued by your comment that IM is a “whole different way of doing business”. Perhaps it is just a semantic difference in our perception of the words, but I feel what Eric and most other gurus of IM are now saying is that IM is very like existing business. Aside from the work required, the disciplined processes, there are still fundamental requirements of any business in order to be successful ;
1) Identify a target client
2) Identify their ‘emotional wants’ (note NOT their needs)
3) Establish a empathy / relationship with them
4) Provide a product or service that satisfies that want
5) Exchange money
6) Repeat over and over.
This is of course the very simplistic list but is what I believe are the fundamentals.
These fundamentals are the same whether you operate a off-line or on-line business. For example a sales person in an off-line business focuses primarily on building empathy and relationships with his prospects. The “new” social marketing world of Facebook and Myspace is about…… building relationships. This is why you will sometimes hear the term “Relationship Marketing” used in place of social marketing.
Where I agree with your comment is perhaps in the area of tools we might use in each of the types of busienss. For example in an off-line business I may purchase a ‘Yellow Page’ ad to drive my market to my business. In the on-line world I may purchase a “Pay Per Click” ad to do the same thing. The purpose is exactly the same, to drive traffic, but the tool is somewhat different.
Many internet gurus are curently giving away their “secret” process charts, get your hands on one and look to see how very much alike it is to running any regular business (well ok, any regular sucessful business).
I wish you every success in your on-line endeavours.
Regards
GC
Well spoken! I was in Manufacturing plant doing design, service and automation for the plant. After spending 5 years in this job to fully automate the plant operation, I decided to quit and do my most desire hobby - computers and internet. So I took the daring step to quit my most comfortable job in 1987 and run my own computer business. Now I am investing myself with online internet business. It has been a long journey but with passion, I have survived till today. Now looking forward to learn more with your lessons.
Cheers!
Edward Han
Hi Edward…wow your own computer business since 1987. I bet we could all learn a thing or two from you!

Great video, most people don’t realize that you can’t simple stick a page up on your website and wake up the next day to have $2000 in your paypal account. It just doesn’t work that way!!
Hugh
Cool thanks
The funny thing is that I could stick a page on my website and wake up the next day with $2k in my paypal account. But it took a LOT of work to get there! So you’re right
LOL…thats funny!
Good point about “Buying Stuff” Bankers generally won’t loan money for an Online business… they want collaterial. I think what you are recommending is “Sweat Equity.”
Once a person has cash flow and a track record a banker will suddenly become your friend!
Hi Eric,
I think you advise is very aptly on stop buying stuff. For years I have been buying new ebooks and software but stock up in my notebook and suffer information overload. Recently, I decided to clean no all these stuff and unsubscribe lot of newsletter which send me junk and offer without much substance. my inbox is now cleaner and am now more focus on what i need to do.
Apparently, your newsletter is still in my inbox, I guess, I still have not unsubscribe, at time,I actually thinking of hit the unsubscribe link when you send me the GURU offer which I received lots of them, some with ridiculous bonus as you did one time. But frankly your newsletter is one of the very few with value information and hope you maintain that way. I now have a very simple check on newsletter I subscribed, if I received 3-5 continuous sales pitch emails I will hit the unsubscribe link. Period.
Hi Eric I love to know more about the little girl who started an online business with the borrowed $8, can you email it to me or refer me to her link Please
Sure… her name is Ashley Qualls
http://potw.news.yahoo.com/s/potw/52250/teen-millionaire
http://www.fastcompany.com/magazine/118/girl-power.html
quote from FastCompany: “Ashley is evidence of the meritocracy on the Internet that allows even companies run by neophyte entrepreneurs to compete, regardless of funding, location, size, or experience–and she’s a reminder that ingenuity is ageless. She has taken in more than $1 million, thanks to a now-familiar Web-friendly business model.”
Thanks for the great advice Eric!
It is good to know there are some good people in the world that are really trying to help others succeed.
One of the key points to remember in any marketing venture is not to get over your head and buying stuff that you don’t really need or know how to use. Take it from experience because I have done that myself and wish I would have had this knowledge a long time ago.
Anyway, thanks again and keep up the great work!
Hi Eric,
I’ve been fortunate lately to being introduced to fellows like yourself - honest folk - who actually provide some useful info that is productive. I’ve always been an entrepreneur and I’ve had some limited successes in mail order marketing in the past. Online though is another matter and I’m still not at the point where I’m making any consistent money - so your lessons are like gold to me! A few years ago - I had some success online but found that what I was marketing did not perform as it should which resulted in others not being able to profit from it like they should have. Even though I was making profits - I dropped that venture because of this problem. If I can’t make an honest buck online - I’d rather not do it. So I’ve been searching for a long while to start a profitable business online that is ethical and offers value. I’m looking forward to taking in all your lessons to help me towards that goal.
Thanks for your help. Signed Ron
Hi Ron,
Its true…honesty, ethical and a legit business is always your best bet.
Hi Erics,
On the early part of your lesson, you did mention about the “Don’t buying any stuff!”. But at the end of it you’ve stated, to be a succesful marketer you need to learn all along the way.
How to learn if are not buying any stuff within our niche? Or just visit blogs or forum to get materials to learn!. A bit confusing here. May be there are something hidden that I couldn’t catch up your words.
Any way, thank you.
There are some things which are good to buy… such as things that truly save your time and cut your learning curve. I’ll be discussing these things as we go. But just remember the qualifier on my statement: Don’t buy stuff **unless you know what you’re doing**
We are really lack of knowledges on this business but we are interested to learn. Opening heart lessons like your do will give us more confident to learn as to be success on this Online business.
Thanks to your great infos, regards
Good and useful video Eric.
I’ve realized quite some time ago that I won’t be rich overnight!
Since then I’ve learned good deal of IM knowledge and I’m heading for success.
I just need to be more focused and I know I’ll make it
Thanks.
Focus…Focus…Focus! Words of Wisdom!
I agree with this.
Though along with your presentation I must suggest everyone to read Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill and How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie.
They’re not specific in what they are talking about, but their philosophies will both give you the tools and the motivation to truly succeed in life. Along with Eric’s slideshows here, it will make a powerful Rosetta stone as you learn the languages of marketing and technology : )
Keep up the good work Eric. I’ve been on your newsletter for well over a year now and never started reading any of your stuff till now, cause as you said in lesson #1 it was by far too fragmented knowledge for a newbie to really grasp and put together.
Many thanks
Sincerely
-Greg the Writer
I agree those are good books… I own both of them. Here’s my affiliate link to Amazon in case anyone decides to go buy them
Go to amazon.com
I’ll be recommending a couple other books as we go along…
Eric, this is so so, good. I am learning a wealth of information. You Rule, BRO. I wanted to ask, Can a person make a living off the internet using Adsense only.
Keep it Up
Oscar
thanks! Yes it is possible, but I don’t recommend it… for 2 reasons…
1) there are more profitable forms of monetization (which may take a little more work)
2) you don’t want your business to be 100% dependant on Google or any 3rd party
I personally think adsense is a good side business. If you want to learn the best techniques I recommend my friend Joel’s $9.95 ebook: Adsense Secrets
Hi Eric,Your video are great & helpful.
I just sign up for Home Cash Course by Mackenzie Lee. I have my website and I am trying to setup an Adsense account to it and having a little trouble doing it.I went to Adsense Secrets link to download the book for 9.95 and you can download for free for 30 days and then you are charge 29.95 a month. Where can I download the ebook for 9.95?
It looks like he switched it to the free trial offer, so I think that would be your best bet to obtain the Adsense Secrets ebook. You can always cancel.
Thank you
Hi Eric,
Also just joined Mackenzie Lee’s Home Cash Course. As a Newbie missed the up-selling catch. No mention of Domain name (Bluewire obligatory), hosting, and now Traffic Machines. Still going to be about $150. Do you think I can get free traffic from anywhere, and do you think the website will accept same? bearing in mind your advice is to stop spending. I am determined to learn the business, and will persevere.
Tim
Yes there are ways of getting free traffic, which I will be covering later on in these lessons. Whether it will be effective for the particular program you are using, I do not know. The focus of these lessons is to teach you how to build your own information product business, rather than relying on a cash course or any such system.
Hi Eric,
Your eye opening tips have been a true treasure so far!
I plunged into ecommerce just a couple of months ago. Now please don’t blame me for doing one very stupid thing. I googled “how to make money online?” After that all hell broke lose, and I got bombarded with so called opportunities from every corner of the earth (but mainly from the US of course) I fell into a couple of traps the gurus so cleverly had set up. Now, please bare in mind I’m Dutch and we Dutch are well known for our sceptism. That didn’t count for me, though! I was all too willing to devour one product/training/or what ever after another. I must have spent at least 5 grand. But I realized buying stuff is leading to no where. So I’m now only spending some monthly fee’s on products that don’t have anything to do with MLM. I gave a system called “Bebiz” the benefit of the doubt. I have an offline business as well, so I wasn’t a wage slave in the first place, but the idea to work from home was very appealing to me. I haven’t made a dime so far, but I believe this mainly has to do with the fact that I haven’t put that much effort in it. Anyway I have all the ingredients (a couple of hosted sites, my own autoresponder, templates, some products, banners e.g) ready to fire my business to a new stage, but I take it step by step now. So, thank you for your clear and honest approach towards ecommerce!
Leonard Roscam Abbing (Mokumkat)
Hi Leonard,
Did you have any luck with Bebiz? I know exactly the program your talikng about(tried it myself). I think you’ll have much beter education here with Eric. I found Bebiz just ok. The price for everything on that sight though is ridiculous.Best of luck!
Hi Leonard
My situation is somewhat similar. I have spent a bit - maybe $300 or so -but I do think it is all useful. I just don’t have the time to start. But my retirement is coming in a year perhaps so I am getting a lot of information. I like Eric’s and Mcrath’s newsletters. I do like being able to put my 2 cents in with Eric’s blog though.
In this thread someone mentioned Adsense but did I not read that Google is discontinuing Adsense and switching to some type of Affiliate system? Lord only knows how that will work.
I’m still on break before I begin my night class and so now off to work.
Sunshine to all.
(Not every day you see two Oscars in a row, having to further qualify your name.)
These lessons are a great idea.
Personally I have done my IM preparations for some time now and are about to enter into a more action oriented phase.
Although I have already thought thru many of the basic steps you are talking about in the first lessons, I think I will be following along to fill in the holes in my knowledge. Great to go through important stuff in small chunks.
You are so right about stoping to buy stuff. One thing is the money you spend unnecessarily, another is the loss of focus that might follow.
The same goes for internet marketing forums. You really do not need to be a member of all of them. Just stay with a few good ones that have either knowledgeable forum members or great learning resouces, or, best of all, both. And, what is interesting is, those are not necessarily the most expensive forums.
All the money you save being a little conservative with your buying habits will come in handy when you some day feel the need to pay for a really great tool or service.
Best of luck to all of us!
Oscar Toft
Hi, Eric!
God bless you for this LESSON!
Go, go, go!
Hi Eric
I really like your tips, they are so down to earth and practical. Everybody else seems just out for the money. I really have
information overload and I still dont know what I am doing. I am really desparate to start an internet business as soon as possible but I dont know what I should do. Everthing I have bought is either too simlistic and junk, and doesnt really give you the meat, or it is so technical you need a PhD in prgramming to understand it! You seem very honest and ethical and I think I can trust your judgement - do you have a course, or know of one that can REALLY get me started?
Thanks
Marilyn
This is the course, and its free
When its done I might package all the lessons into one collection on DVD’s or something, but for now you can get all the lessons for free here on my site as they are released.
Great advise ! Don’t buy anything from the internet! “Information Overload” is the dilemma for most of the newbies.
To your success
Bryan Hee
eric great tofind you and the tellit how it is approach, good on you………
i see your list pros offer is closed, any way of taking that up? be good to?
what do you suggest/
I don’t think they are selling List Pro’s any more. I will be teaching how to build a list, but if you’re looking to buy something because want a jump start on how to build a list, you could join Tellman’s Listbuilding Club
I joined Jigsaw and it can be free if you trade in contacts.
I’m strongly agreed with your that we need to equid ourself with basic internet marketing skills and computer savvy. We need to have continuous learning and learn new skills from time to time.
Thanks for your advice for not continue to buy too much from the internet.
It looks to me that if person knows how to generate leads and convert them into buyers, can really sell anything online. That skill is 90% of everything. That is something that you can’t find free or cheap to buy unlike product or design or anything else. Targeted traffic, conversion and marketing skills
HI! I think You’re doing a great job. There are lots of people suffering from information overload (Myself included). I hope YOu see this post I’m a bit behinde schedule! I actually LOVE my job (I´m an artist) but would like to stop doing certain things related to my job that take time and don’t bring me enough money (like teaching). So is it possible to do Internet Marketing part time and still have some profit (my short term goal is $500- $800 a month and my long term goal is $2000 - $5000 a month)? Is it realistic to expect to outsource most of the work so I can keep working on my art? In terms of hours what’s the minimum You think is required in order to achieve the types of goals I mentioned? I hope You can answear those questions and keep up the excelent work…
Pedro- Yes it’s possible. That’s not an income claim or a promise, but your goals sound very reasonable. I can’t say how much time it will take you, because it all depends on what kind of business you build. I think you need to have at least a couple hours a day to devote to your business. Lesson # 3: Stop buying stuff…
That subject caught my eye.
I don’t know Eric. I don’t know what lessons 1 and 2 were about, but I surely do need to stop buying downloadable stuff (or can we say: junk!)?
I guess that having a PayPal account is a financial dangerous feature for a newbie or unsuccessful online marketer to have.
One keeps buying all that junk that is offered online just because you can have it in a minute “even if it is 3:00 am in the morning”.
And that wonderful offer where all is done for you: no work, no recruiting, no selling, no inventory, no html know how. You receive your own website, all setup and running. You pay and sitback and your PayPal will be flooded with 1000’s of $10 orders.
Almost three years in this online marketing thing and not making a cent. Have I missed something?
But I have joined almost all those affiliate programs, all those free offers, many paying offers, some mlms, subscription based, one time offers.
What happened?
My hard disc is filled with all those 100 Gbs bonuses, how can I fail?
Took a long time, money, desperation, frustration, misery, bankruptcy to learn that an online business is the same principle as an offline biz.
I don’t care how much money you are making online, I want me to make money online.
Can that be true?
I will be “working” on it now!
And, all those FFA, safelist, 1mmm (yes 3 m’s) lists, free ads, paid ads, ppc, TE’s, etc., etc.
Änd all those adversities: computer crashes, internet server crashes, website down, hosting server down, lost 2 years of work in a buckle of water (pent drive in kids hands), lost backup, etc. etc,
Is there life after all this?
Can Eric be our salvador?
I hope so……
Antonio; WOW.
You are a spiting IMAGE OF ME! I don’t know how old you are, Me, I’m 75yrs old and I’ve done everything you mention and then some! Boy am I glad that I found Eric’s lessons. I think that he CAN be out salvador! Stay with it, I know I will.
Have been trying for years, i’m only 73 and still trying so far eric is the best thing that’s happen to me.
Dude, you rock! I’m currently putting some products together built around my music passions. And I’m glad to say I’ve been keeping my wallet closed until the time is right. And I’m with Andrea above: I want all your lessons now! if patience is a virtue, then it’s being tested big time! This is great stuff! Thanks a million, or two, or three, or four…etc.
Haha
Thanks!!
Eric,
Thanks for educating us on the realities of Internet Marketing and not like the 98.5% of fluff that is out there.
Love that Poppin’ Bass in your opening and closing music!
Jamie
Hehe, thanks about the bass
I made it in Garage Band on my iMac (I still do all my business on my PC, but use my mac for Video/art stuff)
LOL…the opening music to your videos is quite catchy. Reminds me of an opening for some sitcom on tv.
I’m glad I didn’t deleted your message, thanks for your honesty and willingness to share your knowledge, keep up the good work Eric.
Thanks a lot,
Muchas Gracias!
Fernando
Hi Eric,
Very Honest opinions on buying stuff and debt.
Anything worthy will take time and learning involved.
I don’t have any marketing knowledge but i am willing to learn.
Great Tips!

Hello Eric,I am really happy about what you are doing.I have always listened and watch your videos and I am 100% with you.The last video #3 audio is not clear it has a echoing sound that distorts the sound, that I could not able to here please check it out for me.Thank you
Hmmm… I am thinking it may be your connection or something in between us
sound was good on my PC.
I am enjoying the lesson and I know with this,I will be a better marketer even though I know little about internet marketing. Thanks Eric.
Expecting lesson 4.
patience is the major element to read your training lessons, how long you expect to finish all the lessons ? I am now truly understand that a successful online business not only be setup by time, money and great effort, but also required patience to wait for the rewarding result to come…! If possible, please do speed up your pace to deliver the lessons in the shortest time of period.
Eric, you’d already done a very nice job, do a little bit faster would be marvellous and more better well done.
Cheers to all for the great success !
right now I’m planning on doing about 5 per week.
Some people can go at a faster past then others.I think that eric has to do what is best for everyone not just a few.Real bigginners will have to take it slower. The “Rabit will just have to wait for the Tutle this time around maybe???
Greetings from a fellow Coloradoan. I grew up in Fort Collins, and graduated from Poudre.
I am new to IM, about six months of info overload.
Your newsletter has a great start to it. I like the way you present your ideas.
I am willing to work at this, and able to learn quickly.
Thanks for your time
Bryon
Welcome Bryon! Thanks, and the west side of FC is the best, that’s where I live
Yet another great post!
Glad I found you Eric,
I have a couple few hundred dollars worth of stuff sitting on my HD that I have done very little with. Sure many of them are probably great guides and I almost always find better deals than the mainstream promo, but it can be almost addictive to buy another and another.
I have begun to apply a method for keeping myself in check and I suggest anyone in the Internet Business field take note:
When you stumble onto a product sales page and decide you are interested in the product…..Stop! Close the web page (note any special offer that comes up) and walk away from the computer. No really, step back, take a walk, breath, and process.
What are you working on now online?
Will this product compliment your current endevure?
Will it add a new project to work on instead or as well as?
Do you have time to implement what ever the product is supposed to deliver?
Do you know the product creator? If not Research heavily before buying. Warrior Forum and Digital Point are good places to start.
Can you get a better deal somewhere? Is anyone offering a extra bonus for using their link? Can you amass 3 or 4 others interested in the product to do a link exchange so that you each get a commission back (lowering you end of day cost)?
And the Biggest Question to always ask…Do you really need “This” product? Will this type of thing be available again (or has it been already)? And if so, do you need it Now, or can it wait for a better time in your business endevures? One of the biggest causes for failure for newbies is getting bogged down by info overload.
Cheers!
Jeromy
good tips, thanks!
Hello Eric,
Thanks for all those helpful tips on “How to” and it is possible to start an online business. With your guidance with these videos, and of course hard work I believe, No I know I can get started.
So here’s to a long & promising relationship.
Thanks Eric you’re giving back and helping others. It’s nice to know people like you still exist….
Thanks Again
I would like to thank you firstly. I am living in India. Is it nessary to have a ceredit card for on line bussiness. As I am not having credit card with me.
Thanks
Shrinivas
Shrinivas,
You don’t NEED a credit card. You can do quite a lot of financial dealings online with a free Pay Pal account. Your Pay Pal account can then be linked to your bank account. Don’t worry, Pay Pal is very secure and safe. It will take a few days to verify your bank account. What Pay Pal does is makes a couple of small deposits into your account. When you see those deposits in your bank account, you go back to Pay Pal and enter them. This verifies your Pay Pal account. You can add money to/from your Pay Pal account and Bank account.
I like to use Pay Pal for most of my dealings for two reasons;
1. I minimize the number of sites my credit card gets entered on (higher security),
2. I can generate monthly reports from Pay Pal that identify much of my business incoming/outgoing finances, making it easier to track.
Another option you may consider (if available there) is a paid credit card. Here in NA, through some of the major credit card companies, one can get a credit card that they have to “load” first. So say you want to purchase something for $100. You would first need to put money onto the credit card, before you could complete the transaction. I understand this is a good way to build credit.
Hi Shrinivas,
Wow….someone all the way from India! Thats great! Best of luck to you!
Learning is the hardest thing that anyone can do in this business. And learning not to buy stupid things is just a way too cool lesson. I am sure that there are too many of us who have over spent to try and find the right place for us.
Eric,
I look forward to all of your lessons. I have spent so much money on way too many programs and membership sites, and have become overwhelmed, scattered and unfocused online. I suppose it’s my own fault for being so unfocused (something to work on). All these programs sound so good, and make you feel like you’re going to miss out on the next best opportunity. I have always appreciated your honesty and trust your advise. Looking forward to more lessons!
Eric,
I was listening to Lesson 3 & it stopped at 2.42 minutes where you are talking about not having to invest a lot of money. I get the message of the Lesson from your outline, but would like to hear all of the audio. Was that
all of it?
Thanks, Joanne
The whole thing is there… Perhaps your computer memory was used up. I suggest closing ALL programs on your computer, clear your internet history, then come back to my site and try again.
Hi Eric,
I really appreciate very much your lessons. I’m French and although I find them easy to understand and very practical. HOpe I’ll be smart enough to continue with them. Million thanks to you.
Bienvenue Mireille, et merci beaucoup! tu es tres intelligent
hi eric i have a website that wasnt getting any action so bought a landing pg to get traffic which is supposed to be optimized so what else should i do to get traffic
Hi Eric:
I received a “tip” from another guy named Eric on a day when I was being bombarded by emails from every list I was on to “BUY NOW” … “MUST HAVE” … “WON’T LAST” … etc., etc. ad nauseum.
Anyway, this other Eric also said “STOP”. Do you need this today? Can you put it to use immediately? If not, PASS ON IT because another, probably better version will be along next week or next month. Also, have you put to use the last product that you bought or is it collecting digital dust on your hard drive?
I took his advise and passed on the offer and I have no regrets and a few more dollars (actually many more) in my pocket.
Keep up the great work here.
Wayne
Great Example! You can achieve whatever you lay your hand upon or dreamt about with determination and focus, no matter your age. Ashley is a good example to emulate.
I received your Stop buying stuff lesson this morning.
I have spent a few hours analyzing my “bought stuff” which included subscriptions to a few programs, and have been cancelling some of them.
I didn’t clearly realized that I had subscribed to five webhosting providers.
How can I transfer all those domains to one webhost without losing the content of them?
I am planning to keep GDI only.
Any suggestions?
Thank you.
I recommend Hostgator, they offer to transfer everything for free including the domain, files, databases, and any scripts. My coupon code is ERICSTIPS.COM to get a discount
Yes…Hostgator is great! They have a few different plans depending on how much bandwith you need. I’ve looked at a lot of different hosting sites out there and Hostgator has the best support and prices I’ve found!
120 lessons of this? No kidding. Who’s got the patience? Cut the cheese and Let’s move it to the point! Make it 5 lessons not 120 “lessons” of blah, blah, blah…no time for that. Keep it short and simple. Thanx.
I know what you’re saying but there’s a lot of newbies who need this stuff. It’s about building the right foundation to give the best chance of success. I’ve spent 9 years to get to where I am… they could do that, or follow the lessons
Well put….thank you Eric!
Very good point Eric. I have been online now for 6 years and things are just coming together. I wish there would have been someone like you when I began to walk me through the tough times.
It is a good idea to learn from other peoples experience than to learn everything from you own mistakes. It helps make the learning curve a little less steep.
Patience is a virtue
I agree too Eric,
A good flag to know if someone is trying to take you for a ride, is when they say something like “A monkey could do it! Sit back and watch the money come in, its so easy”.
It is rather difficult to find a marketer that will be honest and say, “this does take work” and really identify the steps to really get there. I have been blowing along at break neck speed for a year. I have made some money, but not a lot. What I have done though is LEARN and what I have confirmed is there is NO simple 5 steps to building an online business.
You are now only the second person online to tell me to stop buying stuff! Jeremy Palmer was the first.
Your a good man Eric, Thank you.
I think you’re doing JUST the right thing here.
There are hundreds of thousands of enthusiastic internet users out here who will absolutely lOVE the way you’re presenting things.
Everyone has to start somewhere, and there’s nothing worse than people speaking ‘above’ your head. (Like most mentors do).
Probably the most ‘valuable truth’ here, is the fact that we can ALL keep out of debt. There is just TOO MUCH ‘free’ advice out here to be ‘buying’ it in.
Once we start ‘earning’ we can THEN re-invest in ourselves and our bisiness’.
Thankyou,
Pete.
Yeah…its funny how mentors almost speak a different language. You pay them for a service but language they speak is on their level and not yours. Best of luck here!
Thanks for saying the real thing because many online teachers will only canvass people so as to have enough students for traffic-building sake. Thanks again for this lesson
Hello Eric,
I’m enjoying your lessons and want to thank you for offering them. I appreciate your honesty and frank comments. I, too, have purchased several products from so-called gurus only to become confused. So, I’m looking forward to your remaining lessons to hopefully clear the mist a bit.
Once again, thank you.
Bonnie
Thanks Eric for your honesty. You r indeed a rare find in this wacky world of Internet Marketing. I will definitely recommend you to any one who wants to know anything on IM.

Made some of the biggest mistakes online. Scams, over the top MLM, books, products… Only now, thru those experiences start to understand all this online buzz is all about. Can’t say I’m glad to make those painful mistakes but can’t say I regret it either. Eric, my life would be much better if I had found you first.
Hi Eric,
Thank you so much. The thing that sticks out in my mind from this lesson is “Stop Buying Stuff”!
A light bulb moment for me.
Thank you.
Vance
I started a couple years ago studying online business & marketing. I haven’t spent much $$$ at all. I dont watch tv and spend a lot of my time learning online. Awhile back I asked someone who had an online business what would he do over if he could. He said …I would have stuck with one, maybe two gurus or mentors from the beginning, and not get confused with a bunch of voices.I can tell Eric is the man for this job. I was told by an expert salesperson that you will make it in sales if you can think of sales as TEACHING and not selling!
Two light bulb moments for me.
One from you Eric - “Stop Buying Stuff” Ok But it’s so much fun
And the other from Crystal above who repeats advice that selling is teaching.
Hmmmm, I used to be a teacher!
Alex
PS I just Stumbled the video
thanks for a great post. It inspired mine at http://blog.supportspace.com/experts/2008/08/is-an-online-bu.html
Look forward to hearing more tips from you soon!
Dear Eric,
The puzzle is coming together becuse I just finished a Marketing Course and learned so much, I put 1080 hours into the Course and now I’m begining to SEE the Light. I’m willing to LEARN step by step…lots of lol
Dear eric
I’m up to lesson 24 and i just want to say FANTASTIC !!!!!!!!!!!! I have just been on the phone to my freind in London who is also starting an on line business, he has just subscribed to your tips and is looking forward to watching them all. I have 25 inventions ready to run with, so last night when i heard you talking about inentions on your video i was buzzing (excited that is). my intention is to raise money with an internet business then produce my ideas.your tips are invaluble, i wrote so many notes and ideas down last night when i watched 14 to 24 that i could’nt sleep,3.30 AM i managed to nod off THANKS A MILLION ERIC!
PS. I have been inventing since i was 19 and i’m now in my 40’s . I think it’s time now don’t you? Ain’t no stopping me now
ps
I am already in internet marketing since 2005, however I learned and learned and too much information just like you said. I do not earn income as I was told. Looking forward to listening your video step by step. Thanks
i just want to say thank you for all the info. I am newbie and I always have mt heart for business. I’m still in the process of finding my niche.
So far, I’ve learned valuable lessons and insights. I hope to learn some more.
Hey Eric,
I’m so glad I found your site. I’ve been reasearching online business opportunities for a while now and finally got my site up. It’s not monotized yet but I’m working on it. I love your videos. What I find is that there’s so much garbage information out there that’s just geared for a quick buck - mainly scams so it’s refreshing to see someone like you sharing so much for free.
Marketing is very important - I look forward to your next lesson.
God Bless
As usual you are right on the money. It is refreshing to see someone being honest about the fact that it will take commitment and work to do this. Like so many others, when I set up my first website, I thought that I would just have my site and rake in the cash. Keep up the good work
Just finished lesson 3 and wish I had read it before I started buying more make money online products…anyway, this is my wakeup call and it stops here…You gave me alot of straight forward info about why I was looking into starting my own online business…I have committed to this and I give thanks to my awesome God for the favor He has shown me with this new experience…God Bless u a thousand fold…Carolina

Hi Eric,
Thank you for these great tutorials you do for us. After just watching the 3rd video I have realised that you truly are genuine about helping people succeed in their goals as you do not “sugar coat” anything at all, you simply say it how it is, point blank!
I will be tuning in for every video you have as I want (or should I say WILL) be starting my own online business for a few reasons, #1 being that I never want to be living out of my car and relying on friends for food EVER AGAIN (that was soooo degrading) and wish to be finacially comfortable and #2- I wish to help fund scientific research in finding a cure (or even a treatment at least) for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy as my nephew has it and his life expectancy has been estimated at 12yrs old if he is lucky because his muscle wasting (which will include his heart and lungs)is more rapid than usuall. I also wish to help ease the finacial strain that his DMD will cause on my sister.
So for now I will keep learning and gathering an inventory of products I can sell. It has not cost me a cent so far and I’m keeping my fingers as toes crossed that when I do eventually luanch, it will succeed.
Once again
a VERY VERY BIG THANK YOU
Casey
Hi Casey,
I feel like you, Eric is really a big help and a Godsend. I have been out of work and found this product helped my body get what it needed so I could live with the stress I was in. NO Money ( my children haven’t had anything from me in years- clothes, vacations, icecream, shoes…) I understand what you mean, and how humbling it is. I just wanted to send encouragement for your nephew. You love him and don’t want to loose him, that is me too. I love people, even if they are mean, I just see they are hurting. Well, this supplement is great for restoring health and giving back HOPE, even when Dr’s say ” theres nothing else”. I am living proof “there is more!”. Thanks I hope it is something you all look into. write me! please.TP
Thanks Eric
OK! THANK YOU! NEXT LESSON ,PLEASE
Hi eric,
brilliant resource.
I only hate the idea of sales when I know
the product or service is flawed or I know
there is a competing service which may be
cheaper or free.
how does the inexperienced get there toe in the
water and build credibility.
I have an issue with having to like computers
something that bothers me is software compatibility and utilising what is available
I notice for example you are using Camtasia,
i have a problem with the free video downloads
you get in the popular free giveaway events I
can never get them to play-(created by camtasia)and adobe flash player doesn’t download-what’s the work around on that one?
Eric what was the answer to this question??
Adobe flash player should download on any computer. If it isn’t then you need to adjust your security settings, or check for spyware or something that may be blocking it. Unless you have an old computer, in which case you may need to upgrade
Hi Eric,
Your article is a breath of fresh air - thank you!
Dean
Hi Eric,
I am just beginning to set up my business beginning this new journey. Your lessons are very precious to me. In fact, your ebook I received is a kind of a ‘bible” to me and I am following it seriously. I was expecting to receive Lesson 27 on web building as you promised. Can you please send it to me so that I can finish up things by the end of this week? I will appreciate. I am now struggling to build my website. is any recommendation for a easy way to do and which software is good. Thanks. I wish God’s blessings as you share with others
Samy
Whatever be your internet business model, there are some core unique elements
1)Content
2)Traffic
3)Capturing leads
3)Monetizing
Yes its true that hard work is required. If you do the first two things right, the others are relatively easier
I appreciate your video’s…
I admit it… I’ve been buying everything from soup to nut’s, mostly video content, thinking I need to know it all first…
So your saying it’s no secret, this doesn’t really take alot of money, but depending on the individual, could eat up a lot of a person’s time…
The think the struggle’s between time and money are going to go with any beginning endevour…
Thanks a million! The section on taking a real look at who you are and what you will and wont do is great.

I love your site. I am finally finished buying stuff! I have been promoting my husbands site, but i want to start my own. I would love any suggestions. My strengths are marketing, etc. I dont know what to sell though. Help and God Bless! Merry Christmas!
I am setting up my first website with Tafiti builder. It is a drop shipping website. It is almost finished (of course I know from all I have been reading that a website is never really finished-just a work in progress). My plans for the new year are to set up more websites (on my own-without Tafiti). I am looking forward to it. I am a 70 year old greatgrandmother-a transplanted Canadian. I got married a second time and have been living in the US for 10 years. I embarked on this adventure (internet business) last June and know that I will need lots of tips. I also know there is such a thing as information overload. It is a challenge sifting the wheat from the chaff. Thank you for your help. Have a great 2009. Where did 2008 go? Margaret.
Thanks
For being so honest and willing to share your easy to follow lessions.I was almost ready to give up.I’ve Bought cars, fixed them, sold for profit for 25 years. Age and health,I can’t Fix things like I use to.

Looking forward to all of yuor lessions.Have a great day. Thanks Nate
I receive plenty of email from marketers. I discard most of them but keep and review your messages. You’re helpful. Thanks.

I like the way you present this business all I hear from others is how much money they make eyc.. I look forward to your lesson everyday.
Thanks

Hi Eric,
Splendid message you conveyed in Lesson 3 here. Just interested to ask you this one? I’ve came across company offering ready made “Highly Optimised Contents Ready” Adsense Templates. Will be slapped by Google for using these templates? Thank you.
Jimi
Templates are great (I’ve sold them many times), but you have to remember that they are templates… NOT prebuilt sites. Therefore you need to change and customize them to make them your own and avoid the google slap.
Hi Eric:
I just started receiving your lessons (#3) and I wanted to thank you for your real deal way of teaching. I have been searching and buying whatever I could afford trying to find that one program that was it. After wasting time, effort and money, I almost gave up. tired of chasing my own tail and feeling like I must be missing something. Thanks and keep it coming. Can’t wait for the next lesson. kb
Where can find lessons in Kompozer
http://www.ericstips.com/tips/lesson30/
Eric I have located and printed out User guide for Kompozer and NUV by Charles Cooke. Located on ask.com. I am looking for another guide, for someone with less technical skills, a little more down to earth for beginners. Also you mentioned you would provide info in later lessons on where to get computer useing skills and help. Can you get that to me now so I can start, as I need help with computer skills. Thanks for your lessons and help. Very refreshing to find a honest marketer.
Hi Eric
Thanks for the latest video. It is great you are starting with points most people telling people how to start up online sort of forget (like a) check are you really suited to online business, or b) save money by not being stuff unless you know what you are doing!). I’m looking forward to seeing where you take us next.
Guy
Eric,
I love your delivery style. I run a promotional marketing firm and consider myself a salesperson first. It’s nice to see someone else practicing “give to get” marketing. Your lessons add so much more value to the program. Priceless.
Eric just found your lessons great stuff thanks
Great job w/ the videos. wish I’d found you sooner. Thank you
Eric I am intersted this far if you can teach me what I Know that I don’t. I am not afraid and am willing to get up stared and as for having very litte money that is true I did like you said not to do bought, etc.

Hi Eric,
I am still having problems downloading the macros, and opening, some files
It gives me a message that windows can not open this file, because it needs to know what program was created?
And also since I try to down load it to my computer, my computer is malfunctioning, says that it has to shut down, and it goes into a blue screen, and it says that if continuous i have to have the tech. to chek it out.
I do not know what I did wrong. because I have not down load it about 3-4 files are still they need to down load.
Can I log-in to your website and watch the videos to give an Idea of what to do?
thanks,
Grace Stroup
yes we have online version of the videos available for PBM customers. Please submit a ticket at the helpdesk and we’ll get the link to you.
hi erc,
at last someone who tells it like is. i have been researching online businesses for over a year and most of it is empty promises. thank you for the clear cut and simple videos.the truth is if you are a newbie it will take some time before you make money. we can deal with honesty and what it will take to see returns. simplicity and chronological training is the key and not too much info all at once. i’m eagerly awaiting your next video!
Hi Eric,
I have received your first lesson on 20th of October, but to be honest, watched it tonight!
I thought this is another blah blah thing. I was so wrong!!!
I am writing to you from Serbia, and I’ll tell all of my friends to sign in and to learn something from you. Sorry, my english is not good enough to express my feelings. You are so genuine and honest friend of mine(I hope I can call you a friend).
I have a few websites but just from the first three lessons I can see that I have a lot work to do and a lot of things to learn.
Thank you very much for everything you are doing for all of us newbies and God bless you, and your family.
thank you for watching in Serbia, and blessings to you too!
Thank you eric found your video very informative keep up the good work
Hi Eric,
Thanks for the informative tips. As you said in your first lesson, I am overloaded with info that I dont know where and how to start. I am so glad I got to know about your lessons.
Looking forward to the next lesson with a lot of enthusiasm and commitment to gain good knowledge. Thanks again,Regards,Rema.
Hi Eric,
I’m impressed enough to have invited my wife to watch this lesson with me (hope that’s okay).
What you say is enlightening and encouraging. We are looking forward to the next lesson.
Sincerely,
Jack (and Billie Mae)
I’ll take that as a great compliment, thanks!
looking forward to the next lesson.
thanks!
I just joined Home cash course about a wek ago. your lessons are great because it seemed like trial and error with everything that i was trying. right now i am just joining forums and blogging. getting better at both hopefully your lessons will help because this is something i have been thinking aqbout doing for awhile but never had the nerve. unfortunatly now like most people it is a monetary reason for taking the leap. i know i pass your website along to people that i talk to in forums and on my blogs
thank you again for being the kind of man you are. kind and generous.
Eric first of all I would like to tell you how much I appreciate the effort you put into this
business for us. I am 52 years old but I still think I can learn this business. I have been in sales for the last 10 years and recently was laid off. not tech savy but I am will to learn.
This lesson is so true!
I have been trying to do online businesses for about 2 years now, on & off…i have to say, i lost nearly $2ooo.oo buying programs and softwares that i never used or would have any idea on how to programed them as into a business. Not to mentioned signing up for mempership programs, free websites that you ended up paying for hosting & domain but was advertised as for FREE!!! What is the word Free means anyway for the advertisers???, lol.
It sure is hard work, alot of effort and shopping around for ideas to really motivate you on how to start, still work on it and keep succeeding in the kind of marketing of interest…>
thanks Eric for reminding me of this great tip…i am trying to stop this bad habit anyway….:)

Hello Eric, Great lesson. Sorry I’m so behind and trying to catch up. I have a web but don’t know how to get it started. I’m glad you’re such a big help. I have paypal, clickbank acct and google analytics, a weber code, google blog, google as sense code but don’t know how to get it going. I hope you will help me with these lessons. thanks
Wow.
This was almost an epiphany for me.
As I previously stated, I didn’t console my wife when I started, so I ended up going “hog wild”…
…buying domain names like crazy. I now have nearly 1400 and we are now starting to build them into sites, but…
… I did go into debt. Debt which I should not have gone into. I should have bought a few, & worked them.
I have learned my lesson, and I hope your readers can learn from my mistakes as well.
Best,
-K
P.S. A lot of these domains are now available for sale. So if anyone needs either a domain, or website- let me know. I will send some proceeds to both military charities, and to Water is life- the charity that Joel Comm featured on his Twee-t-a-Thon a few weeks bck.
Hi Eric,
Your lessons are great help to us. You are teaching us not only the technical itself of starting online business but also the attitude that we to acquire. You are a great mentor men. By the way, i put the link of this site in my multiply account so my friends could look at it. Thanks and Godbless!

Brother,
Finally, down to earth truth. It is the key to everything. Knowing the truth, living the truth, and sharing the truth. I look forward to hearing your practical advice about moving forward in the online business.
Bless ya,
Troy
Hi Eric,
Thank you sooo much for your lessons. I just put my credit card away. You’re right - I don’t need to buy any more stuff. It is tempting but also adds to confusion and a feeling of being overwhelmed. So nice to hear your honest approach. Thanks again, Sharon
Hi Eric, I thought you presentation was clear and concse, I need to get the business up and going, have thousands of records (vinyl) to sell and need help.
Keep up the good work

I would not rule out an ebay business for that.
Eric: I have been interested for years about internet marketing but I just have not taken the time to pursue it until now. My younger brother is also very interested and so I though we may be able to work together somehow to figure all this stuff out. Also I believe that in my currenrt business as a financial planner/advisor that it will be a must to be able to market my business over the internet. So, To start I am interested in learning how to get my current site or a blog site (whish I understand is far better) to the first page of Google and to appear to be the expert in the area where I live and maybe beyond. Hopefully by doing all this I will be able to get qualified leads to help my business grow. Next I believe that this is a great way to promote MLM businesses the easy way. Am I on the right track? May God continue to bless you and your family and thanks so much for being so honest and willing to help others acheive there dreams to work smarter rather than harder. Vic
If you’re sure that MLM is the right kind of business for you, then yes the Internet is a great place to get leads and build your business. But if you aren’t yet making money from MLM, I would encourage you to explore some other business models– including the model I teach, which is to have your own product.
Eric,
Have you had any first had experience with MLM’s? I myself have had two failed Network Marketing Businesses in the past, but with each failure I have learned what made them failures.
After your recommendation of Cashflow Quadrant, I went on to all 4 of Robert T. Kiyosaki books. In each book there’s always recommendations of network marketing as a stream of income. Do you disagree with this?
I do value your opinion, because I feel you would be honest.
Recently I signed up with GDI, have you heard of them? If so, what are your thoughts? If you haven’t I’m going to include my link to them. You may remove the link without any hard feelings.
Alex
http://www.HowToBecomeFinanciallyFree.com/
I’ve joined a couple online MLM’s in the past, but I never did much with them.
I know for a fact that MLM and network marketing can be a feasible way to make a lot of money, but my opinion is that most people would be better off building a business that they truly own and are passionate about. If I’m going to be investing myself into building a business, I would rather it be truly mine, rather than my upline’s.
While I’ve seen some MLM millionaires, I’ve seen far more people who have wasted time, money, and been burned various ways from MLM’s.
You know before being laid off my software / web development job last month, I too was in telemarketing! I also dabbled in internet marketing years ago, while I was still in college, wow has the game changed!
I have to say, I’ve spend well over a thousand dollars this past month trying to learn more about the “new” things in internet marketing. I see the money I spent as an investment for my future. Some products I regret, and I did get a refund, but the products I’m currently learning from, I don’t mind spending the money.
I don’t mind the hard work. I sit in front of this computer every night, for hours, until the sun comes up. I’m learning, trying to implement things, but just not committing fully to a direction. During the day I actually get to spend time with my family, and I love it. This is my on-going cycle for about a month. If I can make a living sitting at home, working from my computer at night, while spending the days with my family - I’d just love it (Who needs to sleep!).
Alex, I just thought I would write - as so much of what you said is exactly how I feel. I was laid off on January 27th from an Admin Assistant position with a good company, where I was totally unhappy. It is the best thing that happened to me. I haven’t spent thousands, but certainly a couple hundred on programs to learn this stuff (if I could afford it I would have spent thousands, I’m just too broke!) I too have gotten some good ones and they were a good investment so I can learn. But I too haven’t been able to figure out exactly which direction to take. I have had a couple of plans, but then had them not work out for me. I too stay up late-yes, who needs sleep - ditto!-and I LOVE this internet stuff. Yes, it is so great to see my family and have my day times back.
I have a group that has tools to help set up your web site and has free advertising -so that is helping.
It is kind of funny, because I loved it when Eric said -Stop buying stuff! because that is exactly what I have been trying to do -and having a very hard time of it. But the funny thing was that the last thing I bought was HIS video program and then I bought the extras that went with it!! I really love his straight talking lessons so maybe I can stop with his stuff and take time to use the other stuff I have bought.
Well, nice talking to you - you said so many things that were exactly how it is for me and how I am feeling.
They keep telling me if we just keep at it then we’ll succeed.
Personally - I AM DETERMINED! This is IT for me!
Thanks and God Bless you,
Nancy N.
This is good, I am ready to learn.
Hi Eric
Thanks for the tips on not buying everything comes along. Also I’d like to ask is there in books out there to help on marketing that I could get from the library or some other source? I have CD from video professor that goes over the Internet, I use the internet but could brush up to make me more comfortable on it. If you have in other references to this let me know. Thanks for the help.

Hi! Eric
Hamid here. I am Malaysian. I fall inlove with internet marketing then when I was in New York in 1997 until the end 2002. Funny… until then I never make money from Search Engines. However I made some thousands by doing advertisement my online business in newspaper only for Malaysian customer. Its quite ok. But for how long should I pay for the advertisement? What I wish and hope now is I want my website in a front page of google. And of course it is all about the ‘keyword’. By following your video course I hope I will learn many things about search engine and put my site at the front page of google search. I am sure I have to follow a valuable lesson from a guru so that I will be ready doing internet marketing globally. I appreciate if you could comment my blog that I prepared for my first internet business globally. Sorry for my pure English here.

Correction: Sorry for my pure English here should be read Sorry for my poor English here.
Wow, I’m on the right track so far. I’m not sure where I signed up for your e-mail list but I am getting good advice so far with your video series. Thank you for making this available to everyone!
God Bless.

Eric,
First of all let me say thank you for building a site without all the hipe!!! I hate all the fluff and hipe that are in all the ebooks that I read. I want a step by step guide/video that shows me exactly what to do or not to do and I think that I have found that here on ericstips.com!!! One thing that I wish you had (and maybe you do) is a page with all the video links on it. I’ve been going thru all the archives to find the videos and its just a pain to do (but worth it). Other than that … great site !!!
Hi Eric,
I would like to express my heartfelt thanks for very good and detailed information,
Regards
Hi Eric,
This is the first time I ever seen before that you offer a step-by-step training without charging single dime … Not like others marketeer at the beginning they already requested people to pay before having making any single cents. I’m the NEWBIE and finnaly I found you last two days ago and I will follow you until I make a money online then I GUARANTEE will reward you. Hope you will share more with us more especially those like “ME” and we will remember you forever ever when we are succeed.
Thanks in advanced for your info.
Talk to you soon.
KC
hi eric, i’m pretty confused now. i bought simpleoligy. however, i want to be able to sell other companies and collect commission . to start anyway. help. thanks
Simpleology is a great tool to improve your efficiency and boost all areas of your life, and that’s a good backbone for building your business. It sounds like you’re looking to get into affiliate marketing. A good course to give you an overview of affiliate marketing with pay-per-click as a primary traffic source is Google Cash
Excellent info, really helps in putting things in perspective, great layout in what we need to know before getting too involved in something that might not be what we really wanted
Eric have you ever heard of affiliates den? Is it crap or for real?
I am not familiar with it. It looks like they host your sites, and I generally am not a fan of those all-in-one packages.
Eric,
Thanks for the good info. I look forward to each Lesson and am eager to learn and master this opportunity. I am still unclear as to the objective of this, but think I will soon know.
Hi Eric: You three courses have been really great, however I have some problems and maybe you can help me, I have gone into the sites that you have suggested (i.e., stumbleupon.com) but can’t seem to get any further than the sign in page. What am I suppose to do in there? Selling is one thing that I have done alot of and computers I go into programs that I’m shown how to work otherwise I’m computer stupid. I am 73 and still learning.
for now don’t worry about those sites. just take it one lesson at a time, and i will be covering traffic generation techniques in detail later on.
Eric i,m going on vacation thurday i will be back 4-28-09 i will miss some class.
Hi Eric,
I really don`t have my own website. I have an IPC site and a home cash course, but none of my own. By that I mean, none that I have set up on my own. I`m kind of afraid of doing that part. I`m on the computer all the time so I do know more then I think I know. (I hope) My son knows more then I do, he used to teach me but I don`t need his help much anymore. Then again he says that I work so hard at these business for nothing. I hate to say it but he`s right!!
I am flat broke!!! So I am really hoping I will succede with you holding my hand and hopefully showing me step by step how to do this the RIGHT way!! Thanks for giving me some hope Eric!! Patty
Hey Eric It has just occured to me that some of these posts are from last year, you are very diligent with your follow up of our posts to you. I am enjoying the process very much and am very thankful to find someone who takes the time to help me piece this new way of business (for me) all together. I own a supermarket and work 7 days a week and am making time to do this course as I feel even if I decide by the end of it I no longer want to change to an online business I will still have very valid tools I can use in my online life. You are a special gift to the world. Thank You. SallyG
Hi Eric, As of last week, I have decided to stop buying products. It has really been out of control. I am enjoying the lessons thus far and yet have some ways to catch up. I am taking the time to be diligent and follow your instructions. I think this is going to really me in my business and others also. Many thanks!!!
Hi Eric,
I just read the story about Ashley Quall and sent it to the new owners of Harbor Times, a coffee shop pub, I owned and sold last fall. Thanks for the link.
After lesson #3 I realized I have been marketing myself in nearly every business I’ve owned; whether selling food as a restauranteur, selling accounting services, or writing articles and ebooks that hopefully will sell. Thanks for the clarity.
Hi Eric,
What is your opinion of http://www.Instant-Paysites.com
I am trying to learn how to start an online business, and am really grateful for you sharing your knowledge.
Thanks so much,
Denise
I have not tried it, but it is owned by Gary, who is a long-time subscriber and good member of this blog. So I’m sure he could help you out with it
Great lesson! Very frank, give us the correct mindset towards online business. I like your approach, Eric.
Hi Eric:I am just starting my on line business
with INSTANT PROFIT PACKAGE and have listen your Lesson 3. stop buying stuff, which I found very interesting and usefull. Thank you very much and congratulations for your dedication to teach neophyts like me in this new venture. I am just received today a phone call from a guy who said he is a sub-contractor from IPP and ask me if I am interested to have a coach for 12 months to set up my business and have my goal profits for an amount between $1000/30,000 dollars depending how much profit I would like to have. Of course I don’t have that kind of money but my question is: Is this a real offer? Is IPP aware of this offers? People should invest this kind of money to set up a profitable business through the Internet?
Thank you for your reply
I am not familiar with IPP. However, the offer for the coaching is probably legit but not necessarily a good deal. There are 3rd party coaching providers who will call all the customers for online vendors, and try to sell them into high ticket coaching programs like the one they pitched to you. The vendor (IPP in this case) gets paid per lead, or per sale.
the video was great very helpful, but i have a question my website is dead in the water without taffic and i am short on cash how do i get traffic without spending $100
I’ll be covering free traffic methods later on in the lessons.
I am ready to move to lesson number 4
Hi Eric,
I am new to this business. If you want to be an affiliate marketer Should you have a web page for each product,a domain name and hosting or is there another way it should be done.
If you need a website for each product,a domain and hosting gets expensive.Your advise and help.
It really just depends on your strategy, but generally speaking - no you don’t need a domain for each product you are promoting. For example, I have promoted over 100 products right here on my Eric’s Tips site.
In general, you should have a domain for each “niche”.
In lesson #24 I talk about how to get hosting for unlimited domains.
Quitting or Giving Up Is “NOT AN OPTION”!!
Hi Eric,
Great lesson. I’m just wonder if is’nt better to give some examples of stuff that people are interested to buy for there business, hoping that the business and selling will rich the sky and in the finish this people are dissapointed. Just my tought…
Thanks.
Just finished Lesson #3:
Action Steps:
1) While I am not a great fan of door-to-door selling, cold selling, or retail (brick-and-mortar) sales, I get an absolute thrill whenever someone buys one of my collectible and decor items! I love being able to get people things they really want and need whether the need is functional or aesthetic. Now that I have had some success on eBay, I love Internet Sales and look forward to the day I have to hire employees to keep up.
2) I love my computers! My husband complains I spend more time online than with him. He may be right: eBay, Bonanzle (7 booths) and school. I keep hearing that blogs and chatting can help build business, but I do not care for idle chit-chat, although I tend to say a lot whenever I get onto such a site.
3) I am definitely willing and able to learn. At almost 60, I am going working toward my B.S. in Interior Design. Learning helps us to keep growing. When we stop growing, we die. I am looking forward to Lessons 4-120 to know exactly what to do for my business.
I made a realization tonight. Online businesses require WORK, but the work can be sort of a trade-off. If you join a marketing site that is fully loaded, you have to spend your time marketing. If you use an established site such as eBay, you have to WORK to enter ads showing what you are selling.
I’ve got a great deal going with a co. and I need to drive traffic there asap. Lets get to it I’m ready.
I hear you loud and clear. I have tons of product with many online stores, but I am clueless how to get visitors there to see the items. eBay get traffic but not at the rate I want.
I have been watching the videos and really like them and what you are doing. Thank you. My questions is this - Is Instant Paysites a good place to start or should? Are there other turnkey online businesses that are this inexpensive? Thank you and God Bless you and yours
The best place to start is to keep watching these lessons and follow each step
I SO wish I had found your site before I spent more money than I needed to! I know I can say yes to points 2(sort of) and 3, definitely, but it’s hard to market when you don’t have anything to market (yet). I’m working on it, though. I like the way you’re taking things step-by-step, without all the hype.
Hi Eric,
I wish I had seen this video when I first got started about six months ago. I have wasted so much money trying to find the quick solution. Thanks for a great report and I look forward to the next one.
John
HEY Eric You could also package all these coments into a book. They gave me the giggles I had to stop reading them, But on a serious note we can learn a lot, from all soughts of peoples and there coment are great. lets have some motion in the ocean, I really like the idea of becoming a successful Marketer, putting in the hardyards to succeed.
Wow, I just finished my lesson 3.
Hi Eric,
Just watched lesson #3 and I gotta say…I already do some on-line sales with the company I work for and when I started I had no clue what so ever what I was doing,in fact most of the time it’s still “trial by fire”.
So I’m pretty excited with the lessons I’m watching as they are making me a “stronger” marketer both at work and when I start my own business!
That being said, I have facebook and myspace and when I am ready with my website is it ok to add the link to my website on my profile pages?
Thanks again,
Darla
yes it’s definitely good to add a link to your site from your social media profiles. Facebook actually has a spot for it. Myspace can be a bit sketchy if they think you’re using your profile for commercial purposes, but one link should be fine. It’s mainly the spammers and scammers that they don’t like.
Eric,
You are a wonder, where did you come from? I have just seen your Lesson #3. I have had a website with lots of products for 2 years made a small amt of money and have spent lots of money trying to promote traffic promises on top of promises that would have traffic driven to my site. Must be scammers that have promised over 150,000 visitors for lots of money shows no orders. Promises, promises.
Hi Eric!
After four years on my current project, The Gaffer Wealth System, I’m about one month away from the real launch - or as real as I can make it - with 23 spun articles and 24 videos that will spread throughout a fair portion of the Internet for the next several months. The speaking part of my new venture begins with a Homecoming talk at one of the Canadian universities late in September. (I now live in a remote part of sunny Panama, three days of travel away!)
But I want to say the information you provide in this video is excellent. I spent at least the first year of the four stunned like a rabbit in a car’s headlights. I needed to learn everything (except my topic). I knew nothing about building websites (it is much easier now), and of marketing on the Internet, zero.
And there was just so very much tempting information out there. I didn’t know which way to turn and soon I was totally overwhelmed. I went through at least $20,000 buying this and that, trying to learn this new craft but getting more confused all the time.
Then I sat down and made a list of what I needed to do to meet my objectives. At that point I decided to deal with everything according to priority and leave the rest alone until I needed to learn it.
It was the best decision I made - except for getting off almost all the lists I was on that resulted in about six hours a day just looking at marketing stuff.
I knew what I needed to do next and focused almost exclusively on that until it was done. And I started to make progress.
I still cannot do everything but, even with very little money I have started to build a team. I have a great programmer in Australia who looks after all the things I had not yet learned to do and could not spend more time learning.
I would say that 90% of the money I spent on courses, ebooks and ‘help’ was wasted. Now I have the attitude that I know almost as much as I need to know and I will hire freelance specialists who already know their stuff for anything else.
Life, especially at 75, is too short. I could spend years more just learning (by which time the ‘Net would have changed anyhow!). But this is a business, not a hobby and until you actually start selling you *have* no business.
I’m still learning, of course, now about Web 2.0 and will add that to my marketing arsenal when I know what I’m doing. Until then, I’m flat out 7 days a week preparing for significant publicity - as quickly as possible but one UNconfused step after another.
Great lesson Eric and so right on!
Hi Eric, I have about 28 years of experience working at different job in Infofrmation Technology so I am very comfortable with computers, but I have no formal training in marketing. I am anxious to learn marketing and I think an online business is perfect for me.
I have spent a lot of money because I didn’t know if I needed to OR not…Thanks for telling me to STOP!
The first 3 lessons have been great. I almost wish I had seen these sooner. I am trying to get started with an affiliate web site and I have been following all the what to do video’s but I am still unsure if it is going to work. I have had to expend a lot of cash that was not mentioned when I signed up and I am afraid that I will not break even before my next bill comes in if I decide to move forward with this. When you are first starting out how long does it normally take before you see any results?
Thanks for the lessons I look forward to rest of them they have been very educational.
I’m OK with the idea of marketing, I love the computer & the internet, and I’m HUNGRY to LEARN.
I feel the time & work spent will pay off. Thanks for all your work sharing what you’ve learned with us.
Yeah,I wish to stay out of debt free,if possible as much as I could .That why I keep searching tips /guidance on how to start online business.
Because of that, I am willing to learn to archieve it. Appreciate Eric will guide me along the way.
2ndly,is ok for me to use computer and internet . But still need to work on the time management which i still lacking of.
Would like to seek your advice, is start a bsn,is it need to registered it to the Co. registar or treat those income as individual income. Appreciate your guidance as I have no experiences on this. Thanks Eric .
thanks again for your advice to ask me to stop buying things which may not need it currently.
Hello Ng,
We recommend that you check out Eric’s tips on Legal Compliance & Legal Documents for Your Website:
http://www.ericstips.com/tips/lesson43/
Eric,
Thanks very much for your frank analysis and advice.
hi eric,ya know this is what i fancy and tis what i ve been looking for,so ya know long gone are the days of fly by nite sales man im very much intrested to learn more internet marketing technics and its a heck to get me out of my computer.thats what i wanna feed on for th rest of my life, building my internet business.thanxs
Hi Eric,
When I heard you from the first two lessons I immediately decided to spam most all of the mails coming from different Gurus, but the problem is I really don’t know which is which. On the other hand I also want to buy more stuff, good that you said in lesson #3, “stop buying staff” Could you give me some advice concerning my blog, what are the things to promote and what not to promote because it is a scam or no credibility. your answer will highly be kept highly confidential.
Sincerely yours,
Arlan
http://expresslinkexpert.blogspot.com/
http://link-expert.blogspot.com/
In lesson #5 I talk about how to avoid scams, and in lesson #11 I talk about who you should listen to. You can apply those lessons to making decisions about what to promote. So I’ve got you covered
Thank you so much for the response that was so encouraging!
Hi
Enjoying the lessons every bit.
Should go a bit faster
Eric, thanks for the link to this video. I am enjoying the videos.
Hi Eric,i’m so happy to find someone who is willing to put the “newbies” through internet marketing.I must say i really enjoyed the lessons so far and will be looking forward for further lessons.Thanks……..
Hi again, Thanks, very convincing indeed so far. Its a yes for the 3 requirement to commit.
That’s cool about what you say about learning. I’m constantly learning more and more. And I also keep buying more and more too. But now I tend to only buy software tools that I think will help me in my business. I’ve got so much info now that I don’t need to buy those products … although I bought your Push Button Marketer Macro upgrade version that included a ton of pretty cool stuff including info products! I found out about you after purchasing Mass Article Control and am on their email list… which is great!
This is cool Eric!
-Casey Peacock
Great stuff Eric, thanks for the info. Looking forward to more!
Thanks Again

Hi Eric,
I would like to thank you for this wonderful stuff that you have provided especially for the people like me. Honestly speaking, I have been searching for such type of a marketing guide for several period of time which is really serving its purpose rather than simply showing the testimonials of others success. This seems to be the best which I have seen so ever. Thank you very much.
Best Regards
Mukesh
Hi Eric,
Thanks for the great informational videos. I just finished #3, so I am at the beginning stages.
My goal is to replace my current missions income so that I don’t have to draw from our donations any longer for support & travel. Those funds will then be channeled to our national pastor training & church planting ministry in the Philippines. (See http://www.gpmteam.org & link to http://www.villagelight.org).
I think I have found an international niche market. In researching it on eBay, I have discovered two sources and one is a powerseller.
Outside of eBay, there are ten or so different websites. Upon researching them by the physical address provided in “Contact Us”, each one points back to the same address. None of them go to an eBay store.
What more should I do in my research to determine if this is a good market?
By His Grace,
Mike
Thanks Mike, that’s a great goal. I talk about niche selection in lessons #19 and 20.
One way to tell if a market is profitable is if you can determine that marketers are consistently SPENDING money on advertising it (via PPC and other means).
Hi Eric,
Thank you for lesson 3. You have basically confirmed that I will master internet marketing. Although I am not a computer whizkid. I can help myself. What I love about marketing is that you can measure yourself.
Regards Butch
Thanks Eric! You said that;
“Right now, you simply need to commit to the following.
a) I’m willing to be a marketer
b) I like computers and the internet
c) I’m willing and able to learn (and I know it will take work”
I think there is no problem with b) & c). For a), This is my problem! I think, I have to face this challenge! Anyway, I have c)!
Thanks again!
Great message stop buying stuff. I’ve made the commitment to learn and give it my best.
Thanks Eric!
Eric great message, no problem following all three points!
Thanks Erics…
What I’m most interested in are your formula
to use on “thinkorswim”. How to obtain these
information rightaway ?
Thanks,
Freddy Gazan sr.
Hello Freddy,
These strategies are a part of Eric’s Trading Pro System:

hi Eric, can use computer, don,t type very well at all. i am willing to b a marketer online but dont think i would b a good car salesman or personal salesman at all. what do u think?
I think it’s up to you. More than being willing, you also have to really WANT to build a successful online business, and then you will have to commit to it. If you can do that, then you can do it.
And if you’re not keen on selling, then you will most likely have to outsource certain tasks (which is actually a good thing).
Dear Friend,
Really interesting. After I am studying lessons if needs I will put questions.
Hi Eric great content, and it’s free thanks.Q is there anyway to get more than a lesson a day,Even if it’s only the introduction ones (or am I being greedy) Regards Alan
You can see the current lessons here:
http://www.ericstips.com/tips/category/lessons/
But I do not recommend jumping ahead. Its important to do each day’s action steps.
Hi Eric, I’m extremely grateful for that 48 Hour Plan, especially the articles info. I submitted my first article within a day of getting your plan. Being raw at this internet game I have been finding it difficult to optimize my site, until you came along. Once I’m on my feet I will definitely support you.
Many thanks
Jack
Hai guru of online marketing Ericks iam exicted to see your video step by step to success iam very new in internet marketing but this is the business for me iam going to follow every step you teach my honest guru thank you very much
hai Eric i attended the Global Internet Seminar in Kuala Lumpur there were seven spekers conducting the programme for three days and of the day all the speakers sold thousands 0f ringgit products and packcage promising immidiate cash flow after use what you think about it is it true please explain
If they are promising immediate cash flow, I would be very skeptical. I have not seen such a program that lives up to such a promise.
Hi Eric
i have not receive any more video the last one i got is #3 hop to see the rest?
thanks
S.Bulifa
you should receive an email each day… maybe check your junkmail/spam folder?
Hi Eric
I am starting to love online business but i need your suggestion. Because i am not sure in our country (Bangladesh) online business will be applicable or not. Here, only few people use computer, availability of electricity is not good,Traffic jam( which prevent logistic support of goods)& and many other political & source of fund problem.I am waiting for your response.
The great things about the Internet is that you can sell to people all over the world… no matter where you live.
I agree, Eric. As a famous person (not sure which) once said, “sure you can be an overnight success–if you work your tail off a few years to get there!” lol
My rule of thumb is if they promise you can make money immediately–watch out! They’re out to get your money and you’ll get nothing.
@Kathy..I have to agree with you 100% I am just getting started and I see pages and ads that have scam written all over it.
@Maruf great point and Eric gave us a great response..
Ok off to see lesson #3
It’s funny that you mentioned family as a potential hurdle. You really have to explain things in detail and slowly. It was my father in law that put the ebiz bug in my ear and my mom who freaked out. My wife just thinks I’ve lost my mind. However, when you explain your goals and have a general road map people pretty much calm down and get on board. Then they start talking you up to their friends. It’s pretty cool.
Eric, you are a godsend. Thank you. Finally, a “guru” with true christian values. Yes, I have a website. Sort of. It’s a learning thing, what with html code and all that. I love computers, since 1982, and the internet since 1990. Learning is hard and time-consuming. and I will stop buying crap. I can no longer afford it. Please, continue to tell it like it is. and I hate sales, but I can write…hopefully well enough to sell something someday over-and-over. Keep up the good work, I’m looking forward to more lessons.
Hi Eric! I have been so scattered and unfocused until now. Sheer luck has brought me to you and for the first time I feel calm and confident. I have made the pledge to myself to stop buying stuff and I have removed myself from all the lists I seem to be on. Already, my email is easier to manage! Thank you and I look forward each day to the next lesson…..Patsy
Hi Eric, I am in UK and receiving monthly modules from Andrew Renold, do you know him? How soon can I start, can I start without my personal product? I am so excited hope I keep this excitement until I start seeing result.
Only God will pay you for all this good work, honestly. I have so many questions. Just bear with me, I am a Theologian, I have a missionary Organization, and do church planting in mainland Europe also and opening schools in Africa among marginised and unreached peoples group, I am also a system engineer working on contract with Fujitsu, how can I fit in this whole picture of online marketing. This sound stupid, don’t worry just a started, I need money to send more missionaries around the world and open more school.
I am not familiar with him. But I hope my lessons will be a help for you! Thanks
Hello Eric… thank you for this lesson. I like the way how you express things. You make all these things easy to understand. With your tips everybody can understand what it takes to make an online business, and whether it is the right thing to do or not.
Happy New Year…!!!
All the best,
Arne
Hi I am interested online work and I like computers willing work at home
Eric, thanks for the lessons so far. Wanted to get your input on the company Better Trades, and also what you think about the site Think or Swim to do trading. I am just getting started with trading and trying to pick up as much info as possible to become successful
Thanks,
Scott
I do not know a lot about Better Trades other than I’ve seen their infomercials on TV a lot. Maybe you’re already a member, but I do recommend this course: http://www.tradingprosystem.com
The ThinkorSwim platform is a great trading platform. I love their chart features.
Great reality check! It is true, that learning is a bit of work but it is so worth it! But I never thought of it as learning a new language, great concept.
Hi Eric, Great content here. I found a great way to remove all those bad feelings caused by the thaught of selling or cold calling or any other type of fear. It’s easy to do and painless. Try it! It’s worked great for mr and my partner…

Hi Eric,
I really love your Eric’s tips courses that you offer. The material is great and really teaches quality start up concepts and principles. I thank you for the Trading Pro System as well and I’m excited about my online business and the success I’m having so far. I love the learning process and my online business is allowing me to create things that I have never thought possible. I am in the process of building my own membership site that I know is going to be a smash hit very soon. I will definitely be networking with you throughout the process and checking up on the latest with you. Do you know any other gurus out there you would recommend for me to network with. I am in touch with Dave Guindon, Dan Nickerson and Jonathan Budd so far but I am looking to branch out and learn as much as possible to implement solutions into my business. Thank you for your time and I wish you all the best.

Thanks
Those are good ones. If you really want to meet gurus I would definitely recommend going to some internet marketing seminars. But don’t go with the attitude of leeching onto them. Instead, ask them how you can help them in their business (ie. promote their products, etc.)
I have to ask? Do you help or have a side business that guys like me can pay a minimal fee to have a site put on the internet for me?
Thank you for all you do,
stephen w
Not at this time. However, in these lessons I cover several methods of website building, including outsourcing it. There are many affordable places to outsource a website, including http://rentalcoders.com
still not sure how to white list? im with outlook express!!! somebody please help!
Pierrette & I meet all three criteria. We have been working at this for over 3 years. We are not in debt but have no money. We love the net without having a huge background. We love to learn even if we are 58 years young. We are willing to work the hours it needs. We have the rest of our lives to look forward to and we have been together 42 years, married for 38.I love sales and marketing. It is how to apply it and use the tools on the net that I have a problem with. We started by selling dogs on kijiji and had success, but that was a “Live” product. We saw the net opportunity there. We do not want to sell live products.Where do we go from here? We have no money, are on a tight budget, lots of time, willing to learn and work hard…Pierre
That sounds great. I will be teaching you how to sell information products, which is much easier than selling live animals!
Hi,
I have only just started listening to your lessons and am finding them quite interesting. How many lessons do we need to listen too before we are told exactly how to start marketing and what will we have to market. I am willing to learn but I need to know what it is that I will be marketing.
Regards Krys
It’s a process, and the money making doesn’t happen until about lesson #54. Around lesson #20 you should learn what you’ll be selling. Keep in mind this isn’t a get rich quick strategy, but a long-term business building strategy
Thanks
first i thank you for providing such a great helpful information on marketing. I dont have any experience on marketing and sales. but after listening your video i am confident that i will be a marketer. provide me the details how to become a marketer what to sell. Currently i am writing recipes to websites and i am in need of money.

Thanks for asking me to stop buying! Point taken and I am very happy and excited to go to the next lesson.
Hi Eric,I love the work that you are doing and I am glad that I am here with you but I wish that I had come across you a few years ago when I was starting off on my journey to success with internet marketing. The first thing that has to be realised is just like any business venture no matter if it is on line or off line marketing, it takes money to make money and budgeting onesself is very important so sustain your business and keep it afloat.
Regards
Gerald Lyons
thanks a lot eric,I’ll wait for the 4rth lesson,GOD BLESS…
