LESSON #82: Social Media Implementation (Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Linked-In, S.U.)

By | September 3, 2011

(Part 2 of 2)

This is part two of my social media crash course for Internet marketers. If you haven’t watched part one yet (Introduction to Social Media), I recommend watching it first.

The following video is actually the longest video of the entire 100 lesson series, clocking in at nearly two hours! As you’ll see, there’s really no filler…I just had a lot to cover. I could have sold these two social media lessons as a course on their own.

(Watch this video – it may take a minute to load after clicking it…)

Outline:

Due to the length of this lesson, I’ve included the start-time for each section, in case you need to skip ahead.

  • Integration strategies (Starting at 3:52)

    -Link Building/SEO
    -Content Syndication
    -Social Media Automation
    -Content Distribution/Feeder Strategy
    -List Building

  • Facebook (Starting at 15:22)

    -List Building Strategy
    -Driving Traffic
-Paid Traffic & Facebook Ads (Getting cheap clicks)

-Note: The “Opt-in App” is no longer available, and seems to have been disabled by Facebook. I did say in the lesson that this was a likely eventual outcome, so “use it while you can”. However, AWeber now has a built-in Facebook registration widget which will convert your opt-in form into a Facebook registration button if you choose that option! So I recommend using that instead.

  • Google+ (Starting at 72:40)

-Why you should care about Google+
    -Profile
Recommended training: Get your FREE Google+ Videos here
    -SEO

    -Using the rel=”author” link attribute

  • Twitter (Starting at 82:31)

    -Friend networks
    -Twitter tips & tricks

  • Linked-In (Starting at 90:31)

    -Why Linked-In?
    -Filling out your profile
    -Keyword optimization
    -Linked-In tips & tricks
    Recommended training: Linked Influence

  • StumbleUpon (Starting at 100:25)

    -Why S.U.?
    -Warnings
    -S.U. tips & tricks

  • Outsourcing (Starting at 105:33)

-Reasons to outsource or not outsource social media
-You should outsource as much of it as you can.
    -Specific things you can outsource
    -Options for outsourcing social media:
-Hire your own in-house or virtual employees
    -Use an outsourcing company
    -Social Media Management Company

  • Social media marketing group: www.linkedin.com/groups/Social-Media-Marketing-66325

    Action steps:

    1) Create and optimize your profile on Facebook, Google+, Twitter, and Linked-In.

    2) Consider using the recommended software, plugins, and other tools to integrate social media with your business, and maximize your efficiency.

    3) Stay involved. Consistency is key.

    4) Outsource as much as you can.

In the next lesson we’ll be looking at some more free web traffic sources and strategies.

As always, you are welcome to post your questions and comments below 🙂

    Have a great day!

“Philanthropist”..you should also add it to your linked-in profile. You are so Helpful. Since you don’t even charge any penny … why don’t you avail income tax exemption by getting your company registered as NGO… you are great gift to Internet Community. Thanks a ton for all your efforts

Here’s some details for you to better assess the issue:

I am running vista business and using firefox 7.0.1. I see a black video screen saying ‘watch this video’. When I click on it, a ‘play’ symbol appears, but nothing happens. tried a few times…

      Hi Eric,

Great stuff as usual. I guess this lesson is a good a place to ask since this question could fit in with nearly every in the entire series. Given what you taught along with a few external sources; if a person applies these techniques to a FT SEO job – what kind of salary would you command?

Reason I ask is that I’m up for one and have no idea how much to ask for.

      Thanks..

Eric, I have been here before but did not pay attention and did not watch all of the vidz. I think that is why I failed. Now I am watching all the videos from day one, and I am totally blown away. Thank you very much for making this free for everybody.

Hey, Eric! Just wanted you to know that you’ve been in my prayers since you put it out about your illness. You might want to check out a site & see if it is something you would want to consider. It’s http://www.healthychocstories.com. I know what it has done for me & people I know. I love that it’s God’s food for us, so our body can heal as He designed. You have done His work to reach the lost & I for one don’t want that to stop. We all need to do all we can to reach, teach & serve. I would love to know what you think. God’s sweetest blessings to you & yours.

      Hi Eric

I’m thinking you are still in Israel with your lovely wife and baby? I pray that you are all well and enjoying your well-deserved break and that you will return safely to your family as well as your extended family on Eric’s Tips. I think so because the last lesson I received was Lesson 82 and from Micah’s response to Stella. Needless to say, Eric’s Tips presence in my inbox daily with immeasurable treasures of information, the amount of learning, albeit slowly and last but not least the very inspiring and also informative comments of fellow bloggers are surely missed.
I look forward to your return. Tons of blessings.

Hi Eric, I am trying to get a home business started so my wife can be a stay at home mom. I tried to do the domain name selling one but it hasn’t panned out for me so far. I am also trying a blog site (carrygunusa.com) but I am having a really hard time as I am very new to using a computer this way. Is there any advice you can share with me on how to make a blog site that will be noticed. I am really trying hard for my wife and our children as I know it would be such a huge blessing to them. Thank you and God bless you and your family. Colossians 3: 15-17

      Hi Aaron,

We recommend that you consistently put out quality content, that readers in your niche will enjoy reading/viewing. Also, engage in forums and places online where others your niche congregate, and include your backlink in your signature. As more readers come to your site, do your best to foster interaction, to help your blog become a community!

These lessons have continued to be an exceptional eye opener. You have so expertly taken subjects that we are exposed to but have no real clue as to how to manage getting started and effectively manage them.

And, the lessons on Social Media are no exception.

As always, my sincere thanks that you offer these lessons, and daily, look forward to the arrival of the next lesson.

      Hi Eric and Micah,
Your usual excellent lesson, and I do appreciate your consistency in teaching. I also think it was brillant in segmenting this lesson with a timer, which enabled me to take breaks and complete this lesson in two days.

Now, I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of Lesson #83. I normally receive daily mindblowing lessons and have not received a lesson in a few days. I keep watching my email -:(

Lessons 81 and 82 combined are the bomb! Nice going. I can’t believe I sat here and took them both in at once. I almost left when I saw #82was going to be 2 hours.. but didn’t and I’m very glad to have received all your generous output. Although I have been so discouraged as a newbie at trying to even get a foot in the door, you continue to give me hope.
God Bless You and your family, especially the new member I saw in the photo you posted.
