Happy Easter!

(Fair Warning: Blatant Christianity in this post)

I’ve been meaning to post a “personal” update for awhile, and I think this would be an appropriate time to share a little of what I’ve been up to lately.

It’s been about a year since I came down with some health issues, which I reported in a blog post last year. I’ve been largely focused on my recovery over the past year, and I’m happy to report that I’ve experienced much improvement.

Today we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, and I believe that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to us today! I am very thankful for that.

I had the priviledge of painting a couple of pictures for an Easter-themed presentation at my church. I was given some Bible verses, and painted the pictures based on those verses…

“What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called the Messiah?” Pilate asked.
They all answered, “Crucify him!”
“Why? What crime has he committed?” asked Pilate.
But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify him!”
When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. “I am innocent of this man’s blood,” he said. “It is your responsibility!”
All the people answered, “His blood is on us and on our children!”
Then he released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified. (Matthew 27: 22-26)

Jesus

As the soldiers led him away, they seized Simon from Cyrene, who was on his way in from the country, and put the cross on him and made him carry it behind Jesus. (Luke 23:26)

I’ve also had the opportunity to paint during some live worship services and healing services. It’s been a real blessing, and fun to see what God gives me (these are painted quickly and spontaneously). I hope you don’t mind me sharing a few of them, as they kind of fit in with the Easter theme too. Some of them have been more abstract, such as these…

Spiritual Warfare

Reborn Identity

New Life in Christ

Fire and Water Falling

We’ve had a lot of other stuff going on in our house lately too. As you can imagine, it’s always an adventure when you’ve got 5 kids. Still on the theme of NEW LIFE, one of our cats just had a batch of kittens…

We also got a dozen baby chickens, which we will raise for eggs…

Lastly, I know y’all always like pictures of smiling babies, like my little girl 😉

I suppose all of this explains why I haven’t been posting many lessons lately (Don’t worry I’ll post more soon!). In case you’re wondering, my Internet business is alive and well, and bringing in plenty of passive income every month. In fact, my income has not dropped, even though I’ve been working less. The things I teach in the lessons and in my coaching club DO work 🙂

So here’s today’s action step: As you build your business, remember your true priorities.

Have a blessed day!

Hi Eric, So nice to see the family side of the internet business man. The pictures are great and the paintings are inspiring. I found a little girl out on the West Coast who has been blessed with the gift of painting from the age of four. You would probably appreciate her work more than most. Her name is Jordan Cook and her site is; http://www.reachingmyworld.com

    Hello Eric

Many feel that Easter has some link with Christianity. But did you know that the apostles and other early Christians did not celebrate Easter? Here’s a little research to shed some light on this:

What is the origin of Easter and the customs associated with it?

The Encyclopædia Britannica comments: “There is no indication of the observance of the Easter festival in the New Testament, or in the writings of the apostolic Fathers. The sanctity of special times was an idea absent from the minds of the first Christians.”—(1910), Vol. VIII, p. 828.

The Catholic Encyclopedia tells us: “A great many pagan customs, celebrating the return of spring, gravitated to Easter. The egg is the emblem of the germinating life of early spring. . . . The rabbit is a pagan symbol and has always been an emblem of fertility.”—(1913), Vol. V, p. 227.

In the book The Two Babylons, by Alexander Hislop, we read: “What means the term Easter itself? It is not a Christian name. It bears its Chaldean origin on its very forehead. Easter is nothing else than Astarte, one of the titles of Beltis, the queen of heaven, whose name, . . . as found by Layard on the Assyrian monuments, is Ishtar. . . . Such is the history of Easter. The popular observances that still attend the period of its celebration amply confirm the testimony of history as to its Babylonian character. The hot cross buns of Good Friday, and the dyed eggs of Pasch or Easter Sunday, figured in the Chaldean rites just as they do now.”—(New York, 1943), pp. 103, 107, 108; compare Jeremiah 7:18.

However, note that on the day of his death, Jesus instituted a meal to commemorate his sacrificial death(not resurrection), known as the Lord’s Evening Meal and he commanded “Keep doing this in remembrance of me.” (Luke 22:19, 20) This is the Christian celebration that is held each year on the anniversary of his death.

Eric, I admire your zeal for spiritual matters and thought you’d appreciate this clarification. (John 17:17)

    Best wishes

    Tony

    Hi Tony,

thanks for the notes on the background of the Easter Symbols.

Using these symbols exceedingly can overshadow
the real meaning of Christ’s suffering and ressurection.

I guess the shift in using pagan symbols instead of Christian ones is one of the subtle
moves aiming to remove Christ and His Redemption from the public view and perception.

I am almost moved to tears when I see the suffering of Christ, I know he is risen and therefore I rejoice. The hope which his resurrection gives me keeps me believing in his return and living in that vein.
Awesome paintings. I thank God for you and may he bless you and your family.
    Thanks for the inspiration.

    Hello Yvonne,

No, Hostgator makes the domain transfer process very smooth.

Typically, chargeback fees are applied to the vendor. How much does your bank want to charge you to process the reversal? If you can still get the bulk of your money back, it might be worth it.
