One Minute Commissions – Honest Review & Demo

I wasn’t planning on doing this today, but I got sucked into a VERY compelling sales video… and the rest is history 😉

I don’t blame anyone for creating a persuasive video. I make them for my products, and I teach others to do the same. The problem is when they’re misleading (or if they’re so ambiguous that you can’t figure out what the product’s really about).

The product I am reviewing today is called One Minute Commissions, by Mike Auton. The name on the product is Rebecca Roberts, but from what I understand from the JV invitations I’ve seen, that’s basically a pen name for the actress/spokeswoman.

The product pitch made some very bold income claims, but what appealed to me the most was its apparent ease of use. It sounded exactly like the type of product that would be useful to many of my subscribers. So I went ahead and bought it for $46.00 so I could review it.

The payment processor is ClickSure, and it was my first time encountering them. It appears that they are attempting to compete with ClickBank, so I went ahead and signed up for an affiliate account too; perhaps I can report more about them later. It seems they are UK-based, and just entering the business. My credit card company called me within one minute of placing my order, to ask if it was fraudulent.

After ordering, I was taken into the upsell flow (aka One Time Offer), which is to be expected. Again, I have no problem with upsells. I do them myself, and I teach it as an effective marketing strategy. One of my recent launches contained the most aggressive upsell flow I’ve ever attempted, with multiple upsells, and it worked very well.

One Minute Commissions had a total of 5 upsell/downsell pages. My only problem with them was that the “No Thanks” link was hidden for a period of time to force you to watch part of the video on 3 of the pages. Other than that, the upsells seemed pretty typical and they did seem to be fitting with the main product (upsale for “Pro” version, etc.). I did not purchase any of the upsells.

The members area is well laid out, and easy to navigate. No problems there.

The training videos were very basic, but adequate. I had some problems playing the MP4 videos in my browser, so if you do purchase the product, I’d recommend doing a right-click and downloading the videos rather than streaming them in your browser.

The software itself (web based) is simple to use. It takes only a few minutes to employ the method, and I did not encounter any real problems while using it.

Here is a demo of me actually using this product (allow a moment for the video to load):

The software generates videos to promote ClickBank products (or Amazon products using their bonus software).

Those videos are then to be uploaded to YouTube, and traffic is to be obtained from organic Google results.

In theory, it’s a good idea. YouTube videos CAN be a great way to obtain Google rankings.

Unfortunately, the videos generated by this software are very spammy. They’re about 20 seconds long, and consist of one static image, with a random bit of background music.

This provides absolutely ZERO value to the end user, which means users of this software are basically spamming YouTube with these videos, and thus spamming Google with useless search results.

I’d be willing to bet that YouTube/Google will crack down on this practice, thus ensuring that it’s not a good long term strategy.

Therefore I do not recommend this product.

Here’s the good news…

With just a LITTLE more effort, you can use this strategy in an ethical and effective manner. Instead of using this auto-generator software, just get yourself some screen capture software (I recommend Camtasia, but there are free options like Camstudio).

Then for each product you want to promote, create a short review or commentary while you peruse the product and/or sales letter for that product. This way you’re actually providing something of value to the people who are searching for those products.

As always, you are welcome to leave your comments below.

Have a great day!

    Hi Eric,
Allow me to add my name to the numerous others who have thanked you for your review. Not only your review, but also a number of the comments have been an education. Unfortunately, there are too many comments to read them all in one sitting.

I use camtasia. The reason they stream so well is the small file size. I aim for less than 1mb per minute. With screen capture videos, there’s not a lot of action, so the secret is to export at only 5fps (if using SWF) or a low bitrate (in MP4). And the audio is highly compressed too… MP3 mono 32kbps

    Hi Eric.
It seems to be useless Spam and useless product season at the moment.
Recently I bought three WSO’s through JV Zoo. They were WordPress plugins Covert action bar, pop-up Deluxe & Covert Messenger.
Only covert action bar worked for me. Covert Messenger locked me out of my website admin area (not good).
I tried in vein to deal with their help desk. they send you down blind allies and then don’t return your E-mails 🙁

Now JV Zoo seem to be everywhere at present with a growing number of affiliates drowning our inboxes. That’s fine if the plugins work, but what a nightmare if they’re no good.

    Just saying – Pete 🙂

    Eric,

First of all, Thanks for this incredibly honest review, i’m glad that I tripped over it. Hope you’ll add me to your list.

Quick story. Got a fascinating and well written email from a typical marketer. It included a hyperlink text: “Can you test this out for me?” followed by: “It’s not hard at all and you’ll be getting paid at the same time – so it’s a win-win for you.” The link took me to the “One Minute Commissions” video landing page.

I’d heard about “One Minute Commissions” before, but had never checked it out. After watching the video, Google was the next stop to search for reviews. Fortunately, I kept going a few pages (the page and half of results were ALL affiliate pages. Found you on page three of the results, had no idea that’s where google hid the gold.

Thanks again for your valuable contribution, saved me a bundle of time as I wrote in my journal. I’ll be checking your blog regularly when I need a product review.

Thank you Eric. I was planning to do a review but now I see there isn’t any need for that. I’ll just forward people to your article.
I was especially put off by this product because of the extra honest way they represented this piece of sh*t. In any case it is all about keywords, and instead of opening a website or blog and writing articles, it is always good to post meaningful videos after you have done your keyword research. That way you can actually hope to generate a decent income with zero investment.
It might be possible to make a little bit of money with this system using the gravity rule they mention, but ten thousand dollars a day climbing up to thirty plus??? Right !

    Hi Eric,
Thanks a lot for the honest review, you are truly a superstar. I wasn’t going to buy that product anyway because it seemed to good to be true but to find a honest review of these kind of products is refreshing.
Hopefully you saved a few unhappy souls from spending their hard earned cash on bogus products..

I also linked to your review from my site, and i hope you are fine with that.

As one or two contributors have already said, it rather looks like the author is selling this thru’ Clicksure because it is too close to the edge even for Clickbank. Also CB might have taken a too close look at the ‘live’ demo of the many thousands of dollars supposedly piling up in the CB account. I’m not sure how you would go about faking that but it must be possible.

I had a look around at some forums where people were discussing YouTube marketing (spamming, for the most part) and it seems that these types of ‘contribution’ are already being removed by YouTube and de-listed by Google on a broad front. If the simple ‘generator’ script looks half-baked it may be because the author knew he couldn’t delay getting this junk ‘out there’, or that particular game would be over before the launch ended.

Thanks for your honesty and integrity, and I’ll be signing up for more of your stuff as soon as I’m done with this!

I bought the product too .. and I’m glad I found this review .. especially when you explained the 12 video limit (which I asked One Minute Commissions about and got an unsatisfactory answer.) I wanted to like it too .. I guess if you add a voice over and more text to the description that would help .. But you are right, just do it yourself and make quality content instead .. thanks for your insight.

Hey Eric, Thanks for the review. I have been researching this program for couple days trying to find a review that didn’t have a link to the sales page, in other words not promoting the product. I was about to buy when I found your tips site. Have signed up and look forward to future tips and advice on IM. I’m still very new to this arena and am looking for a product that works long term. Hi Eric…it looks like I have been sucked in and am going to see if they are true to their word and get my money back. But here is the rub as I have left the issue below on their own review site.

I will sign up for you as well.

Support is a damned joke. I have problems uploading the pic or thumbnail to a video and support comes back and says this!
Thank you for contacting me with your enquiry.

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing technical difficulties using the program.

I can advise that we are aware of this issue and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

This issue is caused by some images not being compatible with the software.

This is a rare occurrence and I would advise you to try choosing a different product that is closely matched to the one that you are currently trying to use.

This would therefore mean that you would be using a different image that will be compatible with the software.

I would also highly recommend that you use this program on Mozilla FireFox and ensure that you do not have any anti virus software blocking the program.

I hope this information has been helpful.

If you have any additional questions please feel free to ask.

Thanks for the review. I have been caught with Rapid Fire Commissions also through Clicksure. I researched as much as I could but there seemed to be no objective review so I went ahead. The presentation seemed genuine, but a hard sell nevertheless. Just after I purchased it I found this review via the Warrior forum. http://internet-marketing.onlinemedi…mmissions-dud/

I was silly enough to buy the Platinum version, and I have had the same problem with pictures, and had the same stock letter that you have received. The other thing is that the backlinking software has its own problems, it worked for a few days then I got an error message, and had the same problem on three other computers owned by my friends, and each had a different internet supplier, so it looks like that software is also flawed. To date I have over 35 videos on line from the recommended niches and have not had a single sale yet in 4 weeks.
The biggest think that has really pissed me off are the emails I get from Rebecca and Team every day telling me what I NEED TO BUY IF I REALLY WANT TO EARN MONEY, I thought according to Rebecca all you needed was One Minute Commissions!!!!!!!I personally I think its time something was done to stop affiliates who use know BS to promote a product, as it does nothing but cause distrust for the ones who ARE HONEST AND ETHICAL….

I have also had problems with the Quadlink Extreme software, it worked twice then I kept getting the error message “cannot open temporary email – try again” I had so much trouble that they up-graded me to Pro membership, which gave me access to Backlink Machine which had the same problem, you could get it to sort of work if you strip down your firewall and any other defense your computer might have, but then it only worked a couple of times. The good news is that Click Sure have just agreed a full refund…

Hi Eric and everyone else. I wish I had seen your review BEFORE I bought it…Here me and here me well people…”IT IS A SCAM AND A POS!”

After spending a total of about 12-13 hrs, (not all at once) trying to just create a video, (it wouldn’t make one to save my life) the “videos” kept getting rejected as not recognized by youtube. I kept mailing support,(which is also crap they have a very distant acting support desk. I really don’t thing anyone cares there)

Anyway, the excuses that I kept getting were ridiculous. I finally got it to make a “video” and it is a 20second POS: http://youtu.be/jMWG4zGGA1o I asked them “Who would buy anything based on this video” and here was the response: “I have watched your video and can advise that if someone has shyness and anxiety then they are inclined to click on to the video and see the link below to take them to the product”….Yeah…Right.

I was stupid enough to buy the upsells. The bottom line: this “product sucks! and so does the support. This is a pipe dream and a scam.

Hey Eric, where were you when I bought Auto Power Blogs?
